It's called hypnagogic hallucinations . They happen during the night time . Usually when you're about to fall asleep :) I have them always when I'm very anxious . Once my hypnagogic hallucinations were so real that it was like someone said to my ear some whisper . Weird and scary . But I guarantee when you find peace it will go away

Yesss. I notice most of attacks associated with this fear is when I’m almost sleep . I let it get to me tho .. honestly when I’m not thinking about the fear I’m totally fine I went a whole weekend not thinking bout it n I was fine. But this fear has made me so hypervigilance I pick up on every sound every moment I have to insure it’s real if not I’ll suffer . Last night I heard a dog barking outside n I wanted to wake people up too say do I hear that to make sure it’s real that’s how scared I feel I am ?

Inner monologues are very normal, we all have them and they can come in many variations, I can have all sorts of accents and people’s voices inside my head, it used to panic me and now I just accept that my brain is a funny thing and let it carry on

@bp224 yes I have it too. Its sometimes like my moms voice is my ocd voice in my head

Yes. For me I describe it not as different voices in my head, but different voicings. They have different tones and intentions. Can be disturbing if I buy into it.

I've been there it will go away. You dont even notice when . Just accept that you dont know if it was real or no and in the worst scenario someone will tell you you behave weird . I think noone will tell you you're weird ... : p

Nope no ones told me that I’ve just exhausted them with telling them how much I fear this lol. I went to the psychiatrist myself and put myself in therapy

Actually I was afraid to tell about it to my doctor and therapist cause I was scared she will interpret it in a wrong way and will diagnose me with schizofrenia.

They often understand what we mean when we say it’s our thoughts and not an outside voice

Developing schizofrenia ?

Yes ..my absolute all time biggest fear! I’ve seen a psychiatrist and stuff

I think you have 1% chance you'll get schizofrenia if you dont have family history and dont take drugs . People who take a lot of drugs and have family history with schizofrenia have biggest risk. Even one time hallucinations experience doesnt necessarily mean you suffer for schizofrenia .

Yeah I don’t have any family history.. it all started one night I was half sleep and i felt like i heard something in my ears like ringing or something idk well I just hopped up panicing and yea ever since I’ve been obsessed with it..I’m n therapy now.

Try mindfulness, try being optimistic and discipline in daily life . It's the best. But every person needs to find it's own way

This is my biggest fear to, the only way I get over it is saying maybe it will happen and accepting the fact that schizophrenic people can live totally normal lives too. Keep going your going to be ok x

I feel so bad sometimes but I feel I’m stigmatizing it. But I’m not trying to .. just happens to be something I fear.. I know I have to accept it but it’s so hardddddd

@ bp224 Trust me I know and I don’t always find it so easy, but I have found that after so long of saying maybe it will happen I barely get the immense fear feeling that I used to.
