I would say, just as you described it yourself. I'm 35 and have never even dated in large part because of OCD and depression. I then wonder if my thoughts and feelings are due to wanting relive a youth I didn't get to satisfactorily have.

Ocd is horrible , It can make us like.. forgot about life, because we just focus about it.

What do you want to ask?

I wanna ask if it’s normal to sometimes feel like your actually excited by your thoughts... And I wanna ask if it’s normal that sometimes your thoughts disgust you, sometimes you don’t know how you feel about them, sometimes you feel like you could like them or like they excite you MENTALLY Cuz I’ve read about all the groinal respond physically, but nobody talk about the fact that It could mentally too?

@Itshard I can tell you from personal experience, the confusion and inner anguish you feel is 100% OCD. Don't be afraid to ask questions; it's the only way to learn. When I was first diagnosed (19), even up into my late 20's, I could not wrap my mind around the fact that these thoughts in my head were caused by misfirings, and not something I actually thought or felt. I researched tons, it made me feel better, less alone and not "crazy". One day it just clicked that it isn't me thinking or wanting this, it's my brain being a dick. Honestly not sure what made it click, but man, I'm so glad it did. My heart breaks for you. I know what you're going through, and I hope so much that it starts to ease up fast. Imho denying help and advice to someone with OCD is heartless. Yes, it can become a compulsion, but you work through that as it comes. I was screwed up for years (until the last few months, honestly) because I heard someone say you never help someone with OCD because we get "lazy" and expect people to do everything for us. Sorry, but eff that. If I'm stuck, doing the same compulsion for 30 mins, please, help me! This isn't fun, it's scary and painful. But I refused to ask for help, no matter how bad it got because of some pretty crappy "advice". Ask questions, please.

@clckr Woww , thank you for your answer , It is so helpful to see that there is still person that understand. And I’m so happy that you are going better ! To see that you are okay with the fact of me asking questions and even that you WANT me to, make me feel so much better

@clckr Thank you, this really helped. I agree, but then I think me being gay is a misfiring, or was because I used to like girls when I was younger, then I swore I was gay (afraid it was a misfiring now because I like guys and want to be in a relationship with one) even tho I’m only attracted to young looking guys (they are my age)

@FuckOCD This was a huge thing that I wrestled with, also. I think it's because I was raised that being gay is supposedly some horrible thing (it's not, my mom is just something else). I guess what helped me was thinking "ok, so what if I'm bi? What/who is that going to hurt?" and kinda realized if I am, I am. Once I looked at it from that way it wasn't so scary and I quit wrestling with it so much. I think (and I could be super wrong) the fact you're wrestling so hard with it, suggests you're probably not gay and your OCD is being a real sob torturing you about it. OCD is a real bullshit disorder! All these fears and doubts and overthinking and second guessing yourself is exhausting. I'm so sorry you're wrestling with this, it's like our minds enjoy torturing us. Just remember, you're doing awesome! I know it doesn't seem like it now, or maybe that you ever will be, but you're doing one of the hardest things; facing and questioning it. You're actively trying to figure this disorder out and that's straight-up courageous! Have you given therapy a thought? I used to be a hard no on it, but then I found someone who really cares and really wants to help. I know it's not for everyone and sitting down, telling someone about all these things that make you feel ashamed and embarrassed face to face is HARD, but you're strong! You're already trying to figure this thing out which makes you a bamf ?

@Itshard No one should EVER scold you for asking questions about your illness that effects every aspect of your life. Asking questions is how we learn about it. Don't be afraid to ask!!! You're trying to get better!!!

@clckr Thank you. I do go to therapy, I just want to be fucking gay and not what reverse HOCD or POCD tells me ?

@FuckOCD Aw man I'm so sorry! I'd give you a big ol hug if I could! Omg POCD fucked me up for SO long and was honestly the most terrifying and disturbing part of OCD for me. I had a Dr tell me once that because the pocd was so disturbing to me and terrifying that it told her it was just part of the OCD. That helped quite a bit!

I don’t feel good cuz some times it’s like I like them and like if they excite me And I never know if it’s normal

@Itshard That sounds like straight up OCD to me. The constant self doubting, the confusion, wondering what's wrong with you, etc. OCD is really good about making you feel "crazy", weird, gross, doubting yourself when you're fighting back against the obsessions. It's "normal" for OCD unfortunately. What helped me was knowing I'm not alone. There's a bunch of us out there, I think apps like this will bring people together who can fight this alongside each other. You got this! You're strong and taking steps to fight back against it! Never forget that!!!
