Just remember to tell yourself, “maybe I do have MS, maybe I don’t”. You’re never going to be certain about it unless you actually get a diagnosis. I can say this with real authority because I have diagnosed OCD and have had weird neurological symptoms for years that doctors couldn’t find an explaination for. Finally, after having a bunch of tests done, I had a neurologist tell me that I DID have MS. Then, I had three more neurologists, including a MS specialist, tell me that I don’t have it. What I have is atypical migraines which manifest as similar symptoms. My point is that I had to give myself over to the uncertainty while I was going through that. It was scary but it felt much better to let go of “control” over whatever my diagnosis was going to be than to try to get absolute certainty. As they say, “let go or be dragged”.

Hm So you don't have MS? Im experiencing parathesia in the form of numb cold spots on my body. That's the reason why im so scared. A couple months earlier they said I have a vitamine b12 definiency. But today I went back to the doctor and she said that it probably doesnt have anything to do with b12 and that I should see a neurologist. So that made me even more scared.

@maxt32 I don’t have MS, as far as they can tell. I’ve had atypical migraines for years and sometimes they become chronic, so I’ll have numbness, difficulty moving, cognitive issues for days straight. A vitamin B deficiency can certainly cause neurological problems. Did they tell you they suspected it after blood test results? Did you then supplement your diet with it? Vitamin B12 deficiency is unlikely unless you’re a vegan/vegetarian as it’s only found in animal products, or you have a digestive disorder that prevents its absorbtion. Your primary doctor is recommending that you see a neurologist because the symptoms you’re having are possibly neurological. This doesn’t mean it’s anything to be afraid of. There are lots of things that can cause tingling: medications, pinched nerves, anxiety (yes!), migraines, and the list goes on. You could just have peripheral neuropathy with no known cause and that’s treatable with nerve meds. Try not to think of seeing a specialist as there is definitely something “wrong”. No matter what it is, it’s going to be treatable in one way or another.

@maxt32 Oh yeah, I got it, thanks :) I feel you, I’m always scared of cancer in my case since I have 7 cases in my bloodline (family of my mother and father). Sadly I can’t help you.. I’m sorry, but I hope that others can help you x

Yes, my vitamine b12 levels were 152. Therefore my doctor told me to take a high doses of b12 for 2,5 months. 2,5 months later my neurological symptoms come and go. I also have some memory issues. You're very right about the specialist thing, but whenever I think of MS I immediately get scared and very very anxious. It's so hard to stop thinking about it.

Maybe don’t try to push it out of your mind? The more we avoid thinking about something, the more we think about it
