@NOCD Advocate - Katie Because fuck OCD! Irrational, doesn’t make any sense and it latches on to BS - I am grateful that I can see past it now and that my life is slowly coming back on track.. I hope anyone reading this has faith that everything will be better! You got this!!

@NOCD Advocate - Katie I don't think I feel terrible about my life, just unsatisfied. Even if OCD suddenly vanished I would feel pretty far behind. Largely do to OCD I have a low paying job, have never dated, and find it difficult making and maintaining friendships. At 35, it seems most people my age don't have those problems, or not to the same degree. Comparing is probably a losing game, but it's hard to disregard what I don't have when I seem to see it all around me.

@Ben84 It is a fact, whether you like it or not, that you are not defined by your mental disorder(s) or the things you have not achieved. With that said, there is nothing more attractive than someone who recognizes their own self-perceived "failures" or "deficiencies" and doesn't hide them, but shows them to others with confidence. On the other hand, if you show people that your failures define you, then they will believe they do.

The anxiousness and frustration is unpleasant of course, feels significant. Feel aware of how I feel which is good. Thoughtful of those around me, whether they are dealing with something themselves or just with everyday sort of stuff.

Irritated. Very irritated. My OCD is so bad I've had to drop out of my Erasmus year at uni and go home and live with my dad who berates and nags me over pointless shit like leaving a teabag on the counter even though he leaves his own crap everywhere and I WOULD move out but I have to spend £375 a month on therapy because he fucked me up.

Literally my therapist said today she thinks I have OCD because of my CPTSD from my shitty childhood. Yet if you bring up anything he might have possibly done wrong he gets defensive and brings up the very few occasions that he did anything right. My life is a total mess and he's making me feel worse over a TEABAG
