I have this same type of OCD too and you need to train your brain to realise they are just thoughts. If you question you have schizophrenia, you don't have it. Also I treat it like this, if I start getting so much anxiety about having a disorder, just know it's most likely your OCD acting up. One thing I would say is if you come across a disorder and think you have it, your OCD is trying to convince you that you have it by looking at even the minor symptoms. Most of the time when we have a disorder, we search up the symptoms first because we are worried about them and find out what disorder it MAY be. But if you started to notice these symptoms after you've just found out about the disorder, it's pretty much your OCD.

I have something that is a bit similar. Whenever I read about “new” OCD themes, I worry they will be sticky for me, and sometimes they are. OCD is frankly absurd in this way, it can jump from one thing to the other for seemingly no reason - so how much importance should we really give to whatever theme happens to be bothering us? Recognizing this pattern has been key for me because it takes away the seriousness of any particular theme, even the really nasty ones. Hope this helps!

Hello again. One thing I found scary but it’s totally true is that you cannot control your thoughts...only your reaction to the thought. Everyone has both good and bad thoughts but it’s your response that is the stumbling block. Just let the thoughts be and don’t attach any meaning to them ?? when you do this the thoughts will dissipate ?

Hello there ??♂️ From someone who has had cycles of OCD on and off for 11 years I can tell you this is normal. I have had various OCD themes over the years. CBT is fantastic I’ve used it a lot ?? they are just thoughts ? let them pass & don’t attach any meaning to them. Take it day by day you will get better ??

Are you able to see a therapist? They can give you professional help in a structured format and get a game plan for you. If not, have you read through established resources online like the IOCDF? Even once I knew I had OCD, it took me some time to work up the courage to read about it online - but once I did it helped a lot. I wish I could help you with more specific advice, but I’m not a professional.

So you are saying that I let the thoughts flow and don't do anything to these thoughts .Will I be able to manage and recover like that ?

From my experience of OCD just let the thoughts be and they will pass ?? you may find the anxiety increases but it will gradually pass and the thoughts will reduce along with the anxiety. I found CBT fantastic ?? the more you can educate yourself on OCD and how it works the quicker you will get better

Did you see the posts by NOCD Advocate Carl Cornett just recently on here? (The post with the video) You scould ask him. I bet he can point you in the right for getting self guided ERP. You need instruction from an established resource, I bet Yourube has something.
