i was this way when i was recovering from hocd as well. i thought i was okay, but in reality i was doing a lot of small compulsions, especially avoiding things, that caused me to not recover. ocd and really any mental illness can affect our sex drive. i remember when i was struggling with really really bad rocd and hocd, i sometimes wouldn’t even get aroused when me and my partner got intimate even though i never had a problem with it previously. but u have to remember that because ur analyzing ur attraction and ur arousal levels, this can actually block it from happening. good luck to u on ur journey. ur so strong i know you’ve got this!!

Thank you so much and I'm kind of happy to know someone has at least gone through something similar. I just get depressed looking at guys that now I can't think sexually of them like I used to naturally. It's still very natural but it isn't as detailed as it used to be or feels good like it used to. But the intrusive thoughts about females seems so real I just burst out moments before this comment

@chamomile mhmm i know what u mean. the only reason it feels real is because you’ve convinced ur self that it is. a lowered sex drive especially when ur dealing with hocd is rlly scary but it’s a very common symptom. just keep working on getting rid of ocd and not the symptoms. this is an ocd problem not a sexuality problem

@zoya I'm sorry but what do you mean by "OCD problem and not a sexuality problem"?

@chamomile im saying that this doesn’t rlly have anything to do with ur sexuality. yes, ur sexual identity is what ocd latched on to, but in reality, it could’ve latched onto ANYTHING which is why ocd tends to switch themes a lot. like for example, when i had rocd, i wondered if my relationship was flawed. but in fact, it wasn’t a relationship problem, it was a mental health problem on my part. so, that’s why treatment is the same for all themes of ocd. ur brain doesn’t know what the content of the thought is. i recommend watching mark freeman on youtube if u can, he’s very good at explaining this

@zoya So basically what I'm getting from this is that it's just an anxiety problem about turning gay or being gay right? It has nothing to do with what my actual sexuality is. It just makes me think that I'm changing or I'm secretly gay but in reality nothings really happening to my sexuality. I'm still what I was, just anxious :(

@chamomile if i answered that it would be giving u reassurance :(( just accept that for right now, u won’t win this argument to try and prove or disprove what ur sexuality is so just sit there and let the uncertainty exist
