CBIT is a non-medicated treatment consisting of three important components: (a) Training the patient to be more aware of his or her tics and the urge to tic. (b) Training patients to do competing behavior when they feel the urge to tic. (c) Making changes to day to day activities in ways that can be helpful in reducing tics Large, multi-site, National Institutes of Health-funded studies show that more than half of the people who undergo CBIT will have significant reductions in tic severity and improved ability to function. Complete elimination of all tics and other TS symptoms does happen occasionally in CBIT. CBIT is not a cure for TS but a tool that helps individuals better manage their tics and improves their quality of life.

It seems that you have bodily repeated behaviors. Learning and trying to do the following can get you a significant relief soon. - Habit Reversal Training (HRT) HRT is a behavioural approach that combines awareness training, and use of an alternative and incompatible behaviour, to eliminate hair pulling and skin picking. - Stimulas Control Stimulus Control functions to eliminate temptations and reduce access to pulling/picking, by modifying the environment.

@harshit CBIT is based on these simple actions, which teach people to tic less: Action What To Do Change the situation Notice situations where tics are better / worse. Homework: Change the situation to reduce tics. Watch the tic Break the tic down into each step. Watch for any urge inside you that may occur before the tic starts. Homework: Watch each step of your tic and know the steps of the urge / tic. Refuse to give in to the urge / tic Talk about the steps to fight back against the urge/tic and to put off doing the urge / tic. Homework: Relax and fight back the urge and put off doing the tic. Change the bad tics Make up and practice “Competing Responses” (a movement that is the reverse of the tic). For example, in place of your hand coming up you push it down. Homework: When the tics occur, remember to do the competing responses that you made up in therapy.

@harshit Change the situation:- Pay close attention when you're blinking/moving your jaw. Understand your tic: Notice when you do them without your awareness and what situation made you do them. Example, sitting idle and getting bored. Stop the tics in between: As soon as you notice the tic is happening, try to fight back and not let it get it completely done. Do the opposite action than your tics: If your tics tell you to blink your eyes, keep them open. Just do the opposite action your tics won't allow you to do. If your tics tell you to lean behind, move forward, etc. Good luck ✨

They both are different things. Only a professional can diagnose that.

I am in distress and I have thoughts that I have turrets syndrome. I remember that I started to have this eye blinking OCD when I was 8 years old . Then I also had shoulder shaking tic . But they all faded away . And last year I started to have it again. I don't know if this is turrets syndrome or turretic OCD. From my childhood. I had many themes but I didn't know that it was OCD. Like I used to tap my feet 32 times etc. I didn't knew what it was, and it didn't affect me but last year I had hocd. Now I know what it is. And then eye blinking started again .
