I think your psychiatrist said that to you because he knew you were depending on him increasingly a lot and didnt want u to get to the point to where u cant do anything without him always there all the time, which is totally very understandable for bc he knows ppl like us have problems like that, and he cared for you so much that he thought it was best that u learn how to feel purposefull without him always there. He knew you are strong and beautiful without him at the very second. He will ALWAYS be there to help you. He did this because he cares for you.

Hi thank you very much for that. I’ve had a lot of people, including family members, tell me that I need to start developing some self-reliance instead of being so co-dependent. So that makes sense. Thank you very much.

@ma345 This is a good thing to work on. I’m comfortable being alone for the most part. A few months ago I couldn’t bear it. I wanted to be talking or texting someone literally all day because my feelings for the best of me. It turns into a compulsion because it provides comfort when we are facing any bad feeling. And while it’s completely ok to need someone I think it’s great for our health to face our feelings and learn that we are ok. It’s hard work but we can work on becoming happily independent.

@ma345 Of course Im really glad I could help you with this. Sometimes with ocd you feel so broken that we turn to other things or people for complete reliance. Ive done that too and its aan expected thing for u too feel like this if ocd has caused an emptiness in you, like I have experienced. It Will Get Better. You just have to take the first step. I believe in you.

My therapist told me to excersise when I told her I was feeling depressed. Maybe that’s something you could try? Fighting!

Yeah I had been doing good the last week with exercising but I haven’t worked out the last three days. So maybe tomorrow I can try starting up again. It seems like every time I try to exercise I can never follow through and be consistent with it.

@ma345 I understand. I excercised 3 days in a row and it really helped with my depression. On the 4th day I didn’t do it and I was depressed for the rest of that night and the whole morning the next day. I realized that excersising is the source of my happiness at the moment. I hope it can be yours too.

@sillybilly Yeah I think I’ll go for a run or do my body exercise routine tomorrow. Thanks!
