Bravo for not reporting it!!!! Would you be willing to show your brain that ruminating is unnecessary by having a conversation about something entirely non OCD related in the rest of this thread?

I could try but I still feel like a bad person, I'm worried I didn't do a moral thing by not reporting it. The thing is, I'm aware it's not my responsibility (I'm always aware) and its actually the sites responsibility to makesure nothing like that gets uploaded. I'm sure they check things before they're published anyway and I still cant stop ruminating. I feel like ERP in this form makes my thoughts worse and I want to avoid again.

@MJocd Good ERP makes thoughts and feelings more intense at first. It's not a sign it won't work. It's an opportunity for change. I often want to avoid too. But if we do exposure without response prevention, we contribute to our OCD increasing. The response prevention is the most important part

@NOCD Advocate - Katie But now I'm having intrusive thoughts about the ERP? Like what if I failed to be morally responsible and do the right thing and I'm just calling it ERP? Omg ughhh I wish my brain would just stop. It's probably fine anyway, and even if its not, how is it my responsibility to fix it? I'm just another person on the website. Any other person can have the same moral responsibility. It's not like in a moderator of the site.

Then you fail to be morally responsible. Everyone does sometimes. The world keeps turning

I guess you're right but I cant live with myself if I feel morally irresponsible. I hate feeling like I failed to be responsible. :( I actually dont like the internet, I never know if I'll just come across danger. So I really I now want to avoid ERP altogether.

@MJocd May I say something honest?

@NOCD Advocate - Katie Yes you may

@MJocd You already are living with feeling morally irresponsible. You just aren't handling the feeling in an effective way.

@NOCD Advocate - Katie Yes you're absolutely right. :( I wish I could just shift the responsibility of these things to their rightful owner of the responsibility, instead of personally feeling responsible all of the time. How do you think I could go about achieving that?

@MJocd ERP. And some cognitive strategies. But mostly ERP.
