Its long winded what I've said, but you've built this fear out of nothing. This is something you have taught yourself. Things can be unlearnt. This is a habit, this is not necessary and this will not impact your life to make it better by checking your emails. You will be fine if you get some therapy on it, it takes time but you will recover!!!!!!

Hey I used to shut down my emails and if I was going on annual leave or out of office, I would log in and out frequently to ensure I hadnt sent an email to the wrong person or to the whole office without realising!!! I would go through my sent Box as if there was a part of me that was writing emails without me knowing??!! I just learnt to accept if I sent an email then I'll apologise after, or I'll just deal with it when I get caught. The truth was I wasnt sending any random emails, it was just intrusive thoughts constantly.

Nooo I'm not a therapist, but I recovered from the emails. It is possible. What helped me was before I shut down emails, I would take a deep breath and calm my mind for a minute. Then I would look at my sent box and say out loud, its it's all good and i would mean it because i was focused. I then logged out and walked away because there was nothing more I could do other than concentrate for a moment to ensure there was nothing I had written that was wrong. You have to accept the uncertainty at the same time afterwards because there would still be little doubts but you know what! Let those doubts come through and allow yourself to realise well if I missed an email what's going to happen? You're only human you're not a robot! What makes you think you have the ability to see every email and not miss one! What makes you think it's important to see every email? Its funny how everyones different. If I seen an email and it was hometime I'd pretend I hadnt seen it so I didn't have to action it. ? You have to realise and accept you aren't perfect, nobody is. The cause of you missing an email is not going to cause a big deal. A lot of OCD is about uncertainty and trying to control that horrible feeling. It goes if you have the right techniques to control it. Only reason I remembered about the emails is because you brought it up. Now its second nature to me to just not think anything of it. And yes on occasion when I've had a stressful day at work and things have contributed for me to have the OCD return on the emails, it's something that's been triggered and I just accept it is what it is! You could do with ERP on your emails checking. They have a great tool for that on here I think. So limiting amount of times you check every day until you no longer feel the compulsion to check.
