Thanks everyone! I’m doing great actually. I’m stable. I’m a software engineer living on my own. I owe a lot to this program

Thank you so much! I'm one of the less fortunate. I've been trying well begging Mcleans and Rogers but when I was able to afford them they pushed me awaybecause I didn't have enough outpatient treatments despite all specialists telling me I need residential because I lost my job and my parents and became homebound. Could I ask what kind of compulsions you have/had? Checking? Mine is infused with trauma/PTSD and phobia.

Hey. If you have $15-$20, I would highly recommend Job Hershfield’s mindfulness workbook for OCD. It changed my life.

@CerealKiller I have bought many self help books including the ocd workbook recommended by my first ERP specialist, a book by Dr grayson, Mark freeman, book on mindfulness and act. But I guess it can't hurt to try another. It's just that my OCD phobia has a consequence that if it were to happen my PTSD that still needs to be addressed, a lot worse and that's where I'm struggling. I guess this is the real event ocd?

@Crazy.Cat.Lady I see. I hope you find a professional that works for you

@CerealKiller Thank you. I'm actually having an intake with the therapist from this app. Hopefully she won't reject me because I don't know how many more rejections and ghosting I can take from therapists anymore because of my severity.

When I was 20 I also went to an OCD Treatment Center. McLean was closer but had a waiting list so I went to Rogers Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. This was 14 years ago now. I learned a lot. I’m now not just someone with OCD, but I’m also a Therapist myself. ?

That’s amazing! I’m trying to look for treatment centers similar to that in Maryland. No luck.

Are you one of NOCD therapist?

@Dess Unfortunately there are only 2 really good inpatient OCD Treatment Centers in the country. One is in Boston and the other is in Wisconsin. McLean Hospital and Rogers Memorial Hospital. Some hospitals and facilitues have OCD units. For example in NYC I believe Mount Sinai has an OCD unit.

@Crazy.Cat.Lady I am not. I actually just found NOCD a few weeks ago through my Sister. I’ve been telling my Therapist friends about it. I’m currently a Therapist in a group home for teenage boys with behavioral issues.

@Dess Do you live in Massachusetts? When I applied they said they take certain massmed. I can't apply for that because I'm in a different state but if you live there maybe you can?

@Crazy.Cat.Lady I wish. I live in Maryland. I’m trying to figure out how I can get residential insurance there lol it doesn’t count if you’re just a patient at mclean!

@Dess I've been trying to figure that out too. They did say they take Medicare but the only reason why I can't get the disability is because I don't have enough work credit due to taking time off to take care of my dying father. I thought about moving to Massachusetts but I don't have anyone there to help me and having to apply and wait for 9 months is too much. Rogers said I can apply for financialassistance after I get the treatment from them but in order for that to happen I need to give them a deposit of 30k. It's so hard :(
