Anyone on anafranil or Prozac who deals with HOCD ?

I tried that but I sober enough to still be upset

I’ve struggled with that problem before. I used to drink myself to sleep every single night for years and wake up with HANGXIETY. I’m sorry you are going through this. I had to find a way to cut alcohol out for myself because i was using it to fill avoid and not feel things I didn’t want to. I can answer any questions you have, I know that’s a tough spot to be in!

@pure093 I know right! I had no idea how far deep I was in with alcohol. I’ve been sober almost 6 weeks and I sleep way better and don’t feel as anxious but it took me time to get here! I’m sorry your meds give you bad side effects! I kind of am scared of them myself, as they give me no libido and a little bit of anxiousness. I’m sure they work for some people and I’m so happy they do. There’s this book called the mood cure by Julia Ross. You should check it out

I’m sorry. I don’t want that to be the case for me. I just can’t find clarity and knowing I’ve never had great sex is great ocd fodder

@Yikes1000X Sex Is all about give and take. It's a lot more than just penetration. It's foreplay and intimacy maybe HOCD is robbing u of that

@js94 It is. I’m afraid about foreplay because I get anxious. We had sex once where it felt so nice and intimate and I cried because I realized I could be normal. It’s definitely robbingme

@Yikes1000X U have to be totally vulnerable during sex it's too intimate to have any reservations. When ur tense and nervous it would be hard for anyone to enjoy sex. Be confident in yourself.

@js94 I’m trying so hard. But all I do is look at him and wonder if I’m turned on at every corner. I love him to death. All I want is to experience that kind of sex again. Any advice

I know. But, I feel like even in normal times just a naked man isn’t enough for me to be ready to have sex, which disappoints and upsets me

To be honest, I’ve had pretty big difficulties with sex since the beginning so I don’t really see a difference. I don’t want to lie to you, unless you’re in therapy also, meds only go so far. I’m on the highest dose of meds and things are still pretty bad

It’s scaring me. I’m afraid that if things aren’t better with meds, it may be that I actually am gay. I’m sorry, I don’t want to trigger you, this is definitely an OCD thought, but terrifying nonetheless. All I want is good sex. With all the anxiety, I don’t know how I’ll ever get there

It’s awful. And yeah, it’s so hard to get into it. I’m worried because I don’t get instantly turned on and ready for sex when my partner is naked. And the first time I had sex was really awkward, but I was 17

I have the same problem. My mind will be like oh what if you were touching a vagina instead???? Do you like that?? And I’ll get upset and stop
