Idk how to feel safe here I know that everyone here is entitled to post what they want to/need to Bc everyone is here for support. But as a lesbian with SOOCD telling me I’m secretly attracted to men, ive found that I’m actually just really triggered by hocd posts on here.. I unsubscribed from the hocd section but I still see tons of posts about it. I don’t want to make anyone feel guilty it’s just frustrating Bc I feel like this app is a good resource for support and helpful reminders but I’m too scared to use it a lot of the time Bc I feel hated for no reason. :(

@sophie02 Yeah LOL it’s unfortunate ... but like then i get scared additionally Bc I don’t wan to comment anything that might make them feel guilty Bc at the end of the day it’s ocd . Very frustrating lol

@blackraspberry EXACTLY.I just support them cause I understand how hard ocd is and we need to be supporting everyone and helping as much as we can and it’s not like they actually mean anything by it they are just struggling with their own forms of ocd. So frustrating I totally get it.

@blackraspberry I get it, I think it’s hard when ocd can attack all facets of identity. So many of us have conflicting themes. I found for myself that actually speaking to people who identify as lesbian was very helpful for my own journey and informative in terms of my own misconceptions. I get it though, I am very wary of triggering others because in the heat of ocd you will do anything for relief.

@Yikes1000X Yes ocd can be very complex like that! It’s cool that you found that speaking to lesbians is helpful in your own journey, if you ever want to discuss stuff I would be totally open ! It’s really good to be able to see different perspectives :)

@blackraspberry I would actually love that! Same on my end, it’s kind of funny to me that someone can have basically the opposite theme??

@Yikes1000X It’s also kind of helpful for me to see that someone with a different orientation could fear attraction to men and have it seem so real, it almost validates my own experience as a real byproduct of ocd

@Yikes1000X Yeah I know what you mean! For me, SOOCD has a lot to do with comphet in the sense that part of the fear is built off the whole idea that homosexuality is “unnatural” so I’ll think to myself .. I’ve never wanted to be with a man.. I can’t see myself being in love with a man... but what if that’s just because *insert bullshit here*. Do you have rocd too? I have a lot of fear surrounding relationships as well so the two love to work together to beat up my brain lol

@blackraspberry Take the opposite of what you said and you have my OCD! And I do. It’s a great way to ruin your sex life and further feed SOOCD

@Yikes1000X I think that seeing how our forms of ocd r just reciprocals really is helpful in reminding us that it truly is just ocd being evil lol
