Dearest child of God, You are nothing short of beloved. I am a believer and have sexual ocd and have had harm ocd and contamination. Every day I have struggled thinking that God is disappointed in me. When I struggled severely with ocd with unwanted sexual thoughts, there came a time when I had the fear “what if I’m thinking about Jesus on the cross but about having sex with Him”. I felt humiliated and like the worst person in the world and I didn’t know i had ocd at the time. I really fell into self hatred. Now almost a year later, I am learning that no matter what thought my ocd brings my way, God’s love for His children is the greatest deepest most beautiful love we could ever imagine. It is so independent every day of what we do. He knows our hearts. When you have those thoughts He is not angry. I believe with all of my heart dear friend that He sits with you with compassion saying, “my sweet child, how hard this must be on you. I am here. I love you.” I promise you today that His love for you is as sure as the rising sun. No thought will change that.

Thank you so much, ❤ His love for us will never be changed by our thoughts, His love for us is eternal. He undertands all of what we're experiencing, and He is guiding us all the way to recovery. We just need to trust His timing and put our fate to Him.

@trcyzennie I am so sorry that it was a trigger! How frustrating :(. It has helped me with ocd to say things such as “this is an ocd thought. It is as meaningless as a speck of dust. It says nothing of who I am because it means nothing. God knows that is an ocd thought.”

@christinezak I am learning each day to sit in the pain of ocd and yet to know that God’s love is unchanged. There is NOTHING that can separate us from His love! We can never do anything or think anything that would make Him love us any less.

I have OCD, and I'm a believer. I know it's hard to separate yourself from the thoughts but can learn. Thoughts are thoughts, you can learn to take a step back and just nitice the thought. A thought doesn't define you. Search for Nathan Person OCD and you'lll find really good videos about OCD and how it works. Srnding you a big hug.

Hi. I’ve struggled with religious ocd for almost four years now. It’s challenging because there’s no way to ever prove you’re not going to hell. Here is a link I found helpful. It talks about just surrendering yourself to God completely, and leaving your fate in God’s hands. https://ocdandchristianity.com/?page_id=68
