First of all, just go to a therapist with OCD competence! If that's the case: be honest with your issues, you can write it on a paper and hand it over if that's easier. If they cant handle your thoughts, run as fast as you can?!!

How much did you share yesterday? Did you mention the theme? How comfortable were you with the therapist?

I told her that I have real event ocd, and that I wasn't comfortable mentioning what it was yet. Shes nice, and she said shes treated ocd before. Only thing I'm worried about is that she said past events can be reported if you still live with the person, and that made me hesitant

@worryqueen I understand. Give it a few sessions to build trust with her. What other types of OCD have you had? Maybe begin with those manifestations.

@Fear Strikes Out Does she use ERP?

@Fear Strikes Out Yeah, she does erp. I told her about my pedophilia theme and she was understanding, I just dont know what she'll do in the case of a memory... I'm not sure i can ever tell her if she'll report me

@worryqueen How about trying this? Write 5 brief scenarios that you think could or could not be reported by the therapist. Hand her the piece of paper and tell her that only one applies to you. Then, have her let you know which ones she would likely report.

@Fear Strikes Out That sounds smart, thank you. I'll try it out.

@Fear Strikes Out Do you mind if I shared the scenarios with you and you could see if each was believable or if one stood out more? I don't want her to know which once actually happened. What if she thinks each is reportable?

@worryqueen Yes, feel free to share them with me. That could happen that she said yes to all. To avoid that situation, you want to be sure to include a couple of scenarios that are not likely to be reported.

@Fear Strikes Out Okay, these are the incidents I came up with: 1. When I was 10, I played doctor with my younger sister and put her hand on my chest while she slept. 2. When I was 10, me and my sister would show each other our genitals, and I touched her there once, then she touched me. 3. When I was 10, me and my cousin would watch pornogrophy and once acted it out at a sleepover by playing doctor. 4. When I was 10, I had a friend around my age that would show me their genitals then I'd show mine and we'd laugh about it, but didnt touch each other. 5. When I was 10, my older sister asked if she could do something to me and I said yes, and she put my hand on her chest, then her genitals.

@worryqueen Those are very good. I would be very surprised if she indicated that any of those would be reportable.

@Fear Strikes Out I hope you present those to her at your next session.

@Fear Strikes Out Thanks for reading them, and yes I will bring it up with her next session. If she does say that mine is reportable though, should I lie and quit speaking to her? Wouldn't it be obvious then?

@worryqueen I don't normally encourage dishonesty, but I probably would just say it's one of those that she said was not reportable and leave it at that. Would you be uncomfortable doing that?

@worryqueen I had very similar experiences when I was that age too but with my cousin who was like 2 years younger than me. I have learned to sort of let it go because kids don’t really know any better and it’s normal to explore sexuality at that age from what I’ve been told.

@worryqueen I would also like hump everything and I even humped a baby at that age. which I never have been able to tell anyone and is the more worrisome one but I really don’t think I had bad intentions

@Beebuh Well, that's the problem. She is having a hard time doing that. Once she has a few sessions with her OCD specialist and is equipped with some tools on how to manage that in your mind, she will be able to do what you are doing. ?

@Fear Strikes Out Yeah for sure! She’ll get through it once she’s able to talk about it, it’s important that she takes her time and everything! Sorry if I made it sound like it’s easy,I didn’t mean for it to come out that way I meant for it to be like “hey I was also dealing with this and eventually I was able to accept it!”☺️

@Beebuh I understand. Right now this obsession is really hitting her very hard. Eventually, she will have a hammer in her tool belt to fight back.

@Beebuh I'm trying to do that but I cant seem to handle it by myself, that's why I'm seeing the therapist:)

@Fear Strikes Out Being dishonest with a therapist is hard for me, but i will most likely lie if she's going to report me. I'll most likely feel terrible if mine is reportable though :( thanks for the support, though!

Maybe a bit of reassurance, but I think it's important to know that it s totally normal for kids to "play doctor."
