Feelings checking is a compulsion yeah. A lot of us do it. There are no guarantees whether how we feel about anything is right or wrong. Feelings aren't facts. And trying to use them as evidence either for or against fears makes OCD stronger. There's no need to investigate your feelings. They often don't line up with the facts the way we think they should.

Iβm at the point where I canβt decide what I want to do anymore because I can decern feelings and anxiety

@cam332179 I think that's pretty common in OCD, it can really erode your sense of self. I'm pretty confident that no longer checking your gut feeling about things to try to feel more confident in your decisions, will actually help in the long term. People without OCD do occasionally check their gut, but truly it's only occasional, when they're really not sure what they want or how comfortable they are with something. You're experiencing a level of uncertainty all the time which is like how people without OCD feel about big decisions and scary situations. Checking your gut and analysing how you feel is actually fueling the feelings of uncertainty, because it's become a habit which you feel you need to do, even though it doesn't produce the straightforward answers you hope for. If you could quit doing the checking cold turkey for a while, I think you'd soon find that you have more confidence in your decisions and that you "just know" without needing to check in with yourself all the time. The brain adjusts.
