Theses are intrusives thoughts, and they don't mean anything about you. Thoughts are just toughts, it's not because a thought pop into your mind that it become suddenly real. You have to realize that high stress situations, like the covid-19 pandemic, will just exacerbate theses intrusives thoughts. That's why you get all kinds of weird thoughts. You have to let them in and just pass through your mind without judging yourself. Just discard them for what they are, just thoughts.

Yep, I know it too well. Even if another form of ocd come into your mind, it's still the same illness. See, this illness, will try to spook you. It will try a lot of different masks until it find the one that is going to freak you out of your pants. But underneath that mask it's still the same illness which is all about an intolerance to uncertainty, NOTHING ELSE. For example hocd has nothing to do with sexual orientation, harmocd has nothing to do with being violent or a sociopath and pocd has nothing to do with pedophilia. It's all about uncertainty "what if" and every time it has nothing to do with reality. Every "what if" is all in our mind and every time it's fake.

What if this exact thing manifests about someone else? Example; my dad will harm me, etc. do the rules apply the same ?

@Anonymous Well yes, ocd can makes you obsess about literally anything even if it's about other threatening you or the other way around. Example when I was younger I had pocd for about a year or so. In this situation I was the one threatening the safety of other. Then my ocd changed from pocd to hocd and in this case even a small handshake from a other guy was threatening to me because I thought that even a handshake could turn me gay on the spot. And that's even after getting diagnosed twice with ocd. So you see ocd can take multiple forms and that's because everyone has different fears.

If you want to get full control over this illness, I would suggest you to get help from a therapist. I have been with ocd since I was 5 and know I'm 34 and free of ocd. I lost many years of my life to ocd, because back in the days the information wasn't out there. Heck there was no internet until I hit 12 year's old?. So don't wait to get help because it very rarely goes away by itself.

So it could most likely be generalized anxiety disorder but I am no therapist, that's why it's good for you to go see one.

I have ocd, being diagnosed 2 times, but I had a phase between two big theme ocd, where, over one year, I went through harmocd, pocd, contamination ocd and a lot more until hocd stuck. It could be the premise of ocd or it could be general anxiety disorder(gad), they're both anxiety disorder. Either way you should still go to a therapist to sort things out.
