I am so sorry that you deal with this. You definitely have a purpose here!! You are valid and very much alive. Please do not give up, you are so loved by so many people. I understand how draining ocd is. It feels like there’s no hope. Ocd attaches itself to things that are important to us. I am a Christian, and while I deal with ocd A LOT!! Jesus gives so much peace that cannot be found anywhere else. (You can have this too!!) Willing to talk about it if you’re open. I am so sorry that this happens, but you are definitely not alone. Sending love ❤️

Hey thanks ? I’m a Christian as well and I understand all the things you are saying, but you know how OCD can be irrational and put these things in our minds that we don’t believe. I pray everyday for this to go away. I don’t plan on giving up because I was never like this and I know it’ll get better eventually, but when OCD punches you it hits hard. Gets frustrating when you want to think about a future vacation or plans with a friend and it comes it sending all the unwanted thoughts/feelings/urges your way

@Evelyn4416 Aww yay!! I’m so glad to find someone who is Christian and who also has ocd. It’s so hard, and I competely understand. When I get really bad thoughts and worries I feel like doing nothing. Sometimes I think that maybe God gave me ocd so I could help others who also deal with things. I’m not quite sure. I know it’s so difficult to deal with, but you’re definitely not alone in it. There are so many people who are going through exactly the same things you are. Some days might be hard now, but you never know what the future holds. There’s a good plan for your life, and I know that you have many great things ahead of you. Ocd may be draining, but we can’t let it win! I will pray for you to have peace and for your mind to be eased. Our ocd may never go away, but the more we recognize it as ocd, I think it becomes easier to deal with. It likes to mess with our minds, but I know that we can get through this. Sending you lots of love ❤️

@erikaxo Thank you so much for all the kind and loving words! I agree I believe it is strengthening us in all angles. When I first had my big OCD onset I thought I was being attacked by demons and became a lot more serious in my faith. However after privately talking to pastor one day after sobbing over this constant torment I was going through, he was actually the one who told me to go seek a therapist. That’s when I found out I had OCD was able to get the proper treatment for it. It’s super hard at times and I even have some instances of religious ocd where it attacks my relationship with Jesus, but I know it’s not me and just OCD being a jerk

@Evelyn4416 Of course! I downloaded this app because I saw it in an ad, but I’m so happy that I get to encourage other people who are struggling with the same things as me. The enemy does try to deceive us a lot, but ocd is definitely a mental illness that is very unfortunate, but it’s comforting to know that it’s quite common. Right now I am currently having ocd about my faith which came out of nowhere, but it’s also comforting to know that God knows our situation and knows our struggles, and nothing can separate us from Him! I am so glad that you were able to get treatment for it. It’s definitely going to be a lifelong struggle, but we can do many things to make it more manageable. Ocd is very annoying, but I learned that our brains notice that the thoughts give us fear so it thinks we are in danger. Very annoying, but I think it’s great to find a community like this to help us realize we’re all human and all working on it together. :)

God loves you very much and he wants you to get well. I’ve had OCD for 65 years and that’s a long time. But in the last few years I visited a psychiatrist and he prescribed medication for OCD. The medication really works, it takes about eight or nine weeks To take affect on you. Your OCD with medication will be reduced by 60 to 70%. It is help me with the OCD errors help me with depression and anxiety. Again, go to a psychiatrist and get medication prescribed. The psychiatrist prescribed Anafranil, which is a medication for OCD.

Wow 65 years! I’ve also heard of Anafranil and heard it’s one of the best medications for OCD. I’ve been back and forth a lot with whether I wanted to start something but have been afraid of potential side effects. I used to take Buspar for anxiety (when i thought I just had anxiety and not OCD) and it actually worked very well, to where my anxiety and intrusive thoughts to about 0. However I stopped taking it because it was causing me lightheadedness for about 30 min after taking it
