Where are you that this was even available to you?

Calgary Alberta. You can go for asymptomatic testing as well which is what I went for today

@Purpleurple Well, that’s good that it’s available. I mean, it might be fairly well available to me, but being in Northern NJ, I am just aware of how difficult it is to get testing in the NY vicinity, at least in a lot of populations for whom I’m making masks to donate. That’s a tough one though. I mean, you can tell that OCD is making it worse, but you also know that non-OCD people are worried too. Best of luck in fighting your OCDemons! (Hope you could read that with a smile; definitely meant it with one.)

@lilywhitelilith That’s really good to know. I’ve just heard from the people who have had trouble and from the people swamped in the labs processing the test samples. Though I’m the one with OCD in the family, my mother and brother have been really worried and didn’t think testing would be available if needed. I’ll let them know that they can at least let that worry ease up. Thanks!

@lilywhitelilith Also hope you were still able to get help for the anxiety-induced breathing problems. That sounds like such a terrible circle of symptoms, I mean, especially during Covid. If it helps, even when I’ve had allergic reactions make my throat swell, my doc has told me not to panic about the breathing. Keep repeating “I can breathe” to yourself. A lot of times that keeps the airways open enough to make it true and until you get more help. Panic can literally be constricting. Sending peaceful wishes.

I am never going through that torture, I'll just stay home thanks. I think the ministry of health knows damn well that there are easier, less painful ways of testing, but they insist on having a lengthy-ass swap shoved inches deep up into someones nasal/sinus cavity, to the point where people feel like they are getting poked in the brain and causing damage. It's more uncomfortable to experience then the virus itself! In no way do I endorse this procedure. I'm still waitin on the vaccine, I'd take a needle anyday compared to that crap.

I’ve been tested three times, but all because people I work with have tested positive. So sorry your OCD aids in you getting tested!
