Research somatic ocd and see if that sounds similar to your situation at all. That’s what it sounds like to me. It’s important not to self diagnose yourself, but you sure sound like you might have some form of it. The fact that you constantly have to do it “right” is what compulsions are.

I was thinking I don’t do compulsions but now that I I think about it I do like tic type things. Like tug on my ear or touch my hair or arch my back . I don’t know if those are compulsions. But thank you for reading and replying ?

@ruby92173 Well, compulsions are things we do to relieve what we’re feeling. Ex: Checking the front door 5000 times, lol. I’m not sure if yours are necessarily compulsions, but they are things you still do. Either way, you’re not alone in it. And of course!! ?

@ruby92173 Compulsions can be mental too, like over analyzing things, or researching on the internet. Pure Obsessive ocd is is also a thing.

@Nikki1809 I seek a lot of reassurance. Like I want to be sure of everything. I want to know I’m not dying . So over analyzing is something I definitely do. Pure ocd is that just thoughts?

OH let me tell you! Same thing happened to me when I was a kid! I watched a video of some drowning in a pool (I was weird??♀️) then I was scared I couldn’t breathe. I would go to my parents and older siblings for reassurance. 7 years later I realized it was ocd.

Are you better now ? It’s fun because a lot of ppl ask me if at one point I couldn’t breathe or something happened that I lost my breath. I don’t remember anything, but my mom told me I was once knocked down by a wave when I was 3. She said I was under for like seconds . I don’t recall though so who knows if it could be that.

I actually had the same problem getting diagnosed. I was told I was a hypochondriac with depression & general anxiety disorder.....I went to an OCD specialist & she told me that I have OCD with depression & anxiety as a side effect of it (they’re often a package deal lol). I can’t diagnose you obviously, but what you are explaining sounds like ocd.

Yes that sounds like me . I was told the same thing. Now I believe it’s the opposite like you . I have ocd which is turn causes me to be anxious and from being anxious all the time I get depressed because I wonder if I’ll ever get better. When it comes to mental health issues I don’t need anything packaged deals . One is good enough ?
