Well, your family loves you and wants the best for you. It might not be the most comfortable conversation, but it’s important to tell them things you are dealing with. Also, if you have intrusive thoughts, they might also have had intrusive thoughts too. I would also suggest some sort of therapy. But it’s important for you to know that all of these thoughts are ocd, and you are NOT alone! ?

Well, you have a point, thanks. I'll try to tell them in next few days. Till then, I'll prepare for it.

I dont think its necessary to talk about it with family. Family often triggers you more cause they often dont understand

So who do I tell it to?

@machinator366 You dont have to tell anyone. They are just thoughts. But you should seek professional help and have good diet

@Jamarceline How do I take professional help if my parents don't know why I'm taking it?

@machinator366 Ah sorry I didn't know you're young. When I had first pannic attack I told my mother that when I look around everything seems unreal and I'm afraid and wanna hide in bed and i feel weird and i dont know what's going on and i feel like a robot and i have weird really fast thoughts that are so negative and without sense and I'm anxious that something bad will happen.

@Jamarceline I'm not that young, I'm almost an adult?

@Jamarceline She knew its anxiety disorder cause she had that. In my opinion the best explanation is without details cause the most important is that you dont feel mentally okay and only therapist can help

But how do I tell them this, I feel like they will feel I'm sort of a psycho. And if I don't tell them, I won't be able to get therapy, because I'm financially dependant on them

They might not understand fully, but maybe you could research about it and have proof of the science behind it if they question. Regardless of what they think, I’d hope that they would want you to get better. Also, ocd tends to run in the family so maybe someone has it that you don’t know about?

I don't think anyone has it in the family. My family is kind of orthodox, so I don't know how will they react.

Ohh okay. Well, like I said they may not understand, but they love you so I am sure they will want to help you get better. You never know, and I think it doesn’t hurt to try. It’s better than keeping it to yourself ❤️

Hey! You are not obligated to tell your family or anyone about the content of your ocd thoughts if it makes you uncomfortable. You can tell them & be as vague as possible. Tell them you are having distressing thoughts are are taking over your mind & you think you may have ocd. Honestly you can even lie about the theme if they want specifics & you don’t feel comfortable. I hope you can get help soon!!?

Honestly, I didn't expect so many people to come and help. This makes me very happy and I don't feel alone anymore❤️!
