This is completely normal. God knows we have ocd, and I think sometimes I forget that. My ocd has been really bad lately, can you let me know if you have similar thoughts as these? I think that I almost feel like I have to do things or I won’t grow in my faith and it’s draining. I’m hoping that it’s just ocd. But you aren’t alone, and God is watching over you every step of the way. He understands and there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. ❤️

And I also am always doubting literally everything and I overthink everything I do in my faith.

Thank you so much for your reply ? I’m not sure what things exactly in your car but before I knew what I had was OCD I felt like I had to read x-amount of chapters in the Bible and spend most of my time praying or listening to worship music or whatever or else my faith meant nothing and/or God was going to punish me or that this (ocd) was a punishment for allowing pagan or worldly things in my life somehow or whatever. I had at one point gone through my whole room throwing away anything that I deemed not of God because I thought it would cure the other OCD theme I had just started at the time (suicidal OCD), of course that didn’t work. But back to the religious aspect, I also get intrusive thoughts saying to deny Jesus or to give myself to the devil or that I don’t actually believe in God and it’s super distressing at times because He’s my true hope!

@Evelyn4416 Of course! Wow, some of your symptoms are very similar to mine. I completely empathize with you. You are not alone in this. It’s so difficult when ocd attacks something so important to us, like our faith. But we know that Jesus completely understands and empathizes with us as well. Our intrusive thoughts are just thoughts, and He understands that. The enemy also attacks and tricks believers because he wants to take us away from God. Hold on to God, even in moments of feeling lost or even suicidal in your case. One day when we meet our Creator face to face, if we have truly been saved, He will make us new and perfect. ❤️

Evelyn, as you know, those are random thoughts that enter your mind that you have zero control over. After noting their existence, you might say to yourself, "not today OCD" and let it go.

I do get that part, but how do I handle the feelings/emotions that come along with it?

@Evelyn4416 I would sit with the anxiety in the most non-judgmental way as I could. The thought is just a random thought.

I think religious OCD has been around me the longest, I can trace it back to when I was a kid. Thoughts like that or thoughts like “if you don’t do (insert this thing) in (x amount of time) then you’ll reject God” and similar things

I remember getting a sexually intrusive thought about Jesus too. On Easter of all days. You're not alone.
