You will have good days and bad days. It’s all part of the disease. The word “temporary” has helped me.

Recovery isn’t a straight line, it’s full of twists and turns, and sometimes relapses, but none of this means that you won’t get back up again or that recovery is unattainable.

I’m just stuck on this theme and it literally will not go away. And I know I’ve gotten through this theme before, but it’s just the feelings of the fact that it ‘won’t go away’ and it will be like this forever.... I’m just losing hope

@dmuhnyyy I’ll admit I’m not completely recovered, but I am in a better place than I was a year ago, and most days I can say I’m ok, even if I also spend more time than I should on ocd. It’s possible to be ok, I guess is what I’m trying to say. You can get through whatever life throws at you and learn to be ok. You got through this before, so you know how to get through it if it happens again. It’s ok to have bad days, it doesn’t mean life will be bad.

@Nikki1809 Thank yoh Nikki. I really appreciate you and your kind words. It’s just been so hard to get therapy and get help, so I’m battling this on my own right now with no help.

@dmuhnyyy Your welcome. ? Yeah I’m sure it’s rough to go it alone. Do you have any friends or family members you can lean on for support?

I understand how you feel, thank God I’m feeling much better now and on my way to recovery but recognize that those questions you ask is not you it’s still your ocd, so what if those questions or thoughts arise, recognize them as ocd and move past them they don’t need to be analyzed learn to stomp those thoughts the moment they come up and don’t give into any compulsions new or old

Thank you. It just feels so real, so I made the mistake of analyzing and ruminating. I reassured myself so many times.... which made it worse.... but I just have to let them come and go. I don’t need to analyze these thoughts!! I don’t!!

@dmuhnyyy You don’t, step away from the content and you will be able to move away from them, no matter how real they seem they arent

@sesr Thank you sesr. It’s hard to step away from them. Because there isn’t a moment that goes by that I’m not thinking it. It’s just about practice.

@sesr It’s just so hard. I’m going through another spike again. It just feels so real. It feels like I’m agreeing to something awful!!!!! I want it to just go away.

@dmuhnyyy I’ve tried everything. I’m even keeping busy and they’re still bothering me. I’m a terrible person for agreeing to these thoughts!!!

@dmuhnyyy I know they feel real but they aren’t, you’re just too focused on the thoughts but they don’t mean anything at all
