@luchalysol Honestly this makes me sad some days I’m like decent some days I’m worse I’m only good but that only last about a few hours maybe less

@luiscoro0218 Thats how it is for me too. That is a part of ocd recovery though. Once we start to try to dismiss the thoughts and go about our day, ocd catches on shortly after, then tries to get us back in the cycle. It may, like with me, make my thoughts worse or more frequent.

If this is a sign of recovery and it’s like putting a Band-Aid on an open cut I haven’t seen my therapist yet but I start this coming Friday honestly I really hope I can get better I really hope the groin sensation stops I can’t date anyone because of hOcd can’t even have fun like I use Coronavirus was Enough damage now this wow 2020 sucks

I see mine on Monday. Ocd takes over your life, its just what it does, that's why we must fight back. 2020 has no doubt be a trash year so far. Had a lot of good hopes though.

@luchalysol I don’t wanna sound negative but my life has gone to shit from mid 2019 till now Despite my break up I lost two family members they were real close to me so it sucks I’m not trying to use that for my OCD but I was already going through it and trying to cope with the change but when HOCD came in it’s like adding hot sauce to ice cream shit doesn’t make sense

@luiscoro0218 You have the right to be upset and vent. Also know that no matter how hard the road gets, there is a reason for every season. And I know you can pull through. You'll be able to move on and have a fulfilling life, it just takes some hurdles to get there sometimes

I feel beat up and destroyed it’s just I don’t know now if I try to hang out or do something if feels forced upon I can’t hang out with my friends I mean I could but then again I can’t because HOCD makes it uncomfortable for me even at work

Yes but you need to expose yourself in order to manage ocd. Its uncomfortable, and scary, but we gotta do it.

@luchalysol I know I’ve watched a lot of YouTube professors from universities and psychologists that they say that exposure is one of the most effective way to cope with OCD and it just that it’s so hard and makes me uncomfortable even though I know that’s the only way

@luiscoro0218 The good thing is that you don't have to jump in at once with erp. Its slowly working your way up to more difficult exposures.

@luiscoro0218 You can do this. Id suggest writing down a list of obsessions the day before so you're fully honest and don't forget to mention certain things. That way you can get a much better treatment plan. I have to make my list tomorrow and Im nervous, but I wanna be honest and truly get the help I need

That is what the end goal is. Its very likely we will get thoughts throughout our lives, but what is important is learning to manage them. As well as one can only hope that the thoughts are so far between that we are able to truly enjoy life and have a sense of normalcy

Yeah I couldn’t even go back on my dating apps because of HOCD and I also took out all social media because it triggered my anxiety it sucks because I kind of miss my social media even though it’s not important in society but I use that platform as a motivator to lose weight honestly what HO citty hit and well it caused a lot of triggers

Maybe it would be a good exposure to start with one social nedia platform. Remember, that's what ocd causes us to do, isolate ourselves to prevent our fears from happening. Im currently triggered by pictures of my son, and Im slowly seeing them again as exposure. You gotta fight back against ocd
