Have you ever been able to see a therapist for OCD?

@sunflowers Sure. You have MD. You also deal with OCD issues. You’re feeling super anxious about this question you’re worried about, and you’re trying to make that feeling go away as quickly as possible

@Alyosha May I ask whereabouts you live?

@Alyosha Yeah, im soo anxious because i dont want to be Schizophrenia and yes i also dealt with ocd issues because i have pocd and now this.

@sunflowers Nice! I suggest going to www.iocdf.org (Internarional OCD Foundation), and looking under ways to conact them, tell them where you are, your financial situation, and see if they can brainstorm with you on how to get some help.

@Alyosha In the meantime: you asked the question, “Is MD schizophrenia? Holley said ‘I promise it’s not.’” Go write that down. You have the answer to that question. OCD is going to argue with you about that answer, and present all sorts of “Yeah, but what if’s.” It’s ok. Let it do that. Go do what you’d rather be doing right now, and let the OCD babble on in the background. It doesn’t need your attention.

@Alyosha Ok, i will try to do that, im so scared if this Schizophrenia, but i will just let it there, thank you sooooo much for your help and yes i will go to that page and see if they can do something for me. ???

Do you know if there is treatment for md?
- Date posted
- 5y
@sunflowers There isn’t. But I will tell you this. If you know you have OCD, asking people reassure you will only make the cycle worse. I know it’s hard, I find myself doing it too. But you have to try your best to resist the urge to ask for reassurance about something. I will also say that MD isn’t necessarily bad, you just have to be aware of it. Schedule times to do it, so you won’t do it all day. Everyone fantasizes, just yours will have to be controlled more

@sunflowers Also I’ve dealt with schizophrenia OCD before, and it’s a common theme for OCD
- Date posted

@cam332179 But i dont know, i think i shouldn't do it anymore because the thing with md its that you are not living your real life for this
- Date posted
- 5y
@sunflowers I mean you’re still living your real life, your also living in a fantasy. I’ve heard that MD is like a drug, as it can be addicting. Like any addicting drug, u have to to ween yourself off of it

Do you have some tips to help me stop doing md?
- Date posted
- 5y
@sunflowers when do you daydream? When do you not daydream? How would it benefit your life to cut down/stop? Just curious.
- Date posted
- 5y
I do it all the time, but since today i stop, and i have been feeling soo horrible bur i don't want to come back to that
- Date posted
- 5y
I think i also developed ocd on this, like i dont want to fantasize but the images and situations come and its giving me anxiety about it.
- Date posted

@sunflowers I’m not surprised you feel awful after cutting back on the MDing today. It is an addictive behavior—something drug-like to distract you from something else.
- Date posted
- 5y
@Alyosha Yeah definitely, i feel horrible but i will continue, i need to live my life and im decided to do that, no matter if i want to cry or i feel the urge to do it again, i will put my commitment on it.
