What do you think of this quote?: Apply yourself to thinking through difficulties-hard times can be softened, tight squeezes widened, and heavy loads made lighter for those who can apply the right pressure. - Seneca Maybe we can work on "applying the right pressure" and getting the most out of your circumstances?

Since college, I've been able to get a grip on my OCD. Ive had some bad relapses but I picked myself up everytime; 2019 I think was the first year I didn't have a major relapse. 2020 is a radically different time that doesn't give much optimism for me. On top of covid, I've had to live a lot more isolated from peers and all the things I loved doing. (I'm an extrovert so it kills me to not go outdoors to parties, bars, etc) I know I can overcome but the particular set of Intrusive thoughts I'm getting now are so rough.

I can imagine this is a difficult time for you extroverts. May I ask where you live?

@Ben84 I wont get into the details but it's one of the worst affected areas within one of the worst affected US states. It's so bleak that hospitals ran out of space.

@Saraki I'm sorry to hear that. I know it's not the same as in-person relationships, but you have a community here ☺.

@Saraki You might call some OCD specialists and ask if they set aside any pro-bono sessions for clients without insurance or income or have really reduced rates. With teletherapy now so common, I don't think that you need to restrict yourself just to your local area.

@Fear Strikes Out I was against teletherapy at first because I would rather have a flesh and blood person nearby. Feels very distant and cold via electronically. But I think I'll have to warm up to teletherapy.

@Saraki Limited research seems to suggest that teletherapy can be as effective as in-person therapy. In some ways, it can be better if many triggers are found in the home. Have you been diagnosed with OCD? If not, you might consider the free 15-minute consultation through NOCD.

@Fear Strikes Out I had an appointment today at 9 but no one called. :/

@Saraki With NOCD.

@Saraki You know, you are not the first one to say something similar. From a customer service perspective, that is some crappy service. You might have to follow up with them. I would be persistent just to get a free diagnosis.
