Welcome back Chi Chi āŗ! You're in an admittedly tough situation, but please don't give up. Your situation is not hopeless. What have you learned about OCD that is helpful to you?

@chichi 24 Thats understandable. But yea, just keep going. It makes sense as you go. If ita helping you to do the erp, why stop? if saying you do have OCD helps you to get better than I say keep doing it.

@chichi 24 I think the point is though... You seem to think you have OCD. Until you can get a therapist, you can just see if using erp is helpful for you

@chichi 24 Google "OCD Cycle" and ask yourself if your situation might fit.

@Daisy102 A therapist is ideal, but you can start doing exposure and response prevention or erp without one. Have you made a hierarchy of fears yet?

@Daisy102 Yeah Ben that's a good point... even if its not OCD, facing fears can still help though right? I mean, Its somewhere to start. If you find out later that such and such disorder is closer to you then you can switch what you're doing a little so its better for you.

That SUCKS. guys I'm so sorry. If standing up to your parents is not an option that is available to you right now or not somethibg you feel you can do now, I would recommend group and online things. There are several OCD group therapy things that you can call into. Google it. "OCD group over phone" or something like that. I haven't tried them but I've seen several. Also... Here is an awesome place to get ideas of resources, as well as exposures you can try. Ive heard that exposures are the most helpful thing you can do for OCD. A therapist would be so so great, but if you do exposures you can still make some progress anyway, if a therapist can't happen yet. Also, online resources. There are loads of youtube videos. I also recommend "the secret illness", its a website that mixes OCD and art/ writing. Also forums... Catholic forums has a lot of good stuff on scrupulosity, like some real encouragement there too, not just the platitudes (I'm not catholic but I found it helpful). Keep looking amazing people. rooting for all of you!!!

Iām so sorry. I wish young people could have access to these kinds of support and help on their own without needing their parents approval or funding. Could you try buying an OCD workbook at least so you can try to learn to do ERP on your own? The OCD Center in LA recommends these: https://ocdla.com/ocdreadings
