I’m a Christian aswell! This is the biggest thing I overthink about. I find myself having doubts often, and worry that because I overthink it and have doubts I don’t believe.. but what I’ve learned is to just accept those thoughts and do my best to believe in the only thing that makes sense in the world today and that’s that there is a God

Sometimes I have thoughts about this too obviously it doesn’t affect me as much as people actually suffering with this ocd Bc that’s not my current theme but yes you got it! Don’t overthink the thoughts. And God is good :)

Literally my faith has been what has kept me through all of this , even at my lowest point I find turning to prayer and worship eases the anxiety and thoughts. It also reminds me that I’m not defined by my intrusive unwanted thoughts or feelings but rather by who God says that I am! I’m definitely open to talking more about how faith has helped me in this!

I have been having a really hard time connecting with God since my OCD got worse and since lockdown. I feel like all I ever do is cry at him and ask for help. Does anyone have any advice on how to strengthen my relationship with Him?

I sometimes say “I don’t know what this is and I don’t know why I’m going through this right now but I trust you. Give me strength, Lord. Amen”

I think some times our tears serve just as much as a prayers as our actual words.

I was definitely not near God when my intrusive thoughts came in full force. It’s been almost 4 years now since my life hasn’t been the same but through this I have found God and started to learn more about him. We want God to fix us with the snap of a finger but some things are a process. God gives us strength everyday to face our fears. Stay strong and just believe in God.

My faith has gotten me through the darkest of times. Suicide attempts, sleep less nights, and days were all I did was cry, He got me through it all. Although, when hocd hit me at first I actually became resentful towards God, I didn’t understand why I had been given this mental disorder if I’m a good person, but now 5 years later I’m closer to God than I’ve ever been. I realized that everyone is fighting a battle, although ours is hard since it’s not physically seen & it’s hard to explain to anyone who doesn’t have this, but I leaned to God who knows every single one of our struggles better than ourselves. I prayed for God to heal me, to make this go away, and then I read 2 Corinthians 12:6-10 :) we have a thorn in our flesh, that’s all just a reminder that we’re humans and nothing is perfect, but Gods plans are bigger than us, so I try to humble myself and know that his strength is made perfect in my weakness. He loves every single one of us remember that your brain is just part of your physical body, but your soul is something past that & that’s what he loves, he doesn’t see any flaws and understands all of our feelings while dealing with this. Faith in Jesus and his suffering for us keeps me going, we don’t walk alone. Also, I love listening to worship music I recommend God only knows - For king and country, The break up song - Francesca battistelli, Reckless love - Cory asbury, and Still Rolling Stones - Lauren daigle hope y’all give these songs a listen when you need a reminder of your strength and God’s love :)

Thank you for your response! It’s comforting to know there’s other Christians out there suffering with hocd because I feel alone sometimes. And yes you are so right God has a plan for all of us and we don’t need to know but we can just have faith in Him. Thank you for your recommendations too I’ll check them out!
