Absolutely this has happened to me, and continues to happen. Try not to beat yourself up. You are NOT starting over from square one. Keep reflecting on how far you’ve come. Keep up with your ERP even on good days. There is hope.

Thank you so much for that! It can truly feel so defeating but you’re right. I think I lack in doing erp in good days so I’ll definitely take your advice to heart. Thank you for the help, I appreciate it. Hope nothing but the best in your journey as well!

I don’t have any advice, but I hope you get some useful comments. May I ask, what makes a day “good” and what makes one “bad”?

To me I feel like what makes a good day could be two things. One, that there was no arguments or misunderstandings (which is know is bad to see it that way and working on it) and two, I didn’t have any anxiety attacks or if I had an attack or ocd thoughts I was able to let them slide right down my shoulder like nothing.

@Vavina_4 I might be wrong, but maybe a good day is one where you do what you value, no matter how you feel that day, one where you don’t let compulsions (mental or physical) take up your time? I think maybe you’re underestimating your accomplishments and that you’ve had more good days than you give yourself credit for.

Thank you so much! What I’ve done to help has honestly just been to be honest with myself about every feeling and emotion. I let myself feel however and try to find healthy ways to cope. I try to journal everyday or if something is bothering me. I have this support group on this app and a support group on Instagram and one on Facebook. I follow a YouTube channel for my specific ocd called Awaken into love. I also follow her podcast on Spotify and follow her on Instagram as well. I’m also doing her course and take notes about important things that stick out to me while doing it. I do breathing excercises and try to write down everyday 5 things I’m grateful about my life and about my partner. I try to stick around my values and truly listen to what I’m needing at the moment. I make sure to make time for myself and make sure I feel cared for by maintaining my skincare routine, having relaxing baths, watching YouTube videos, etc. I allow myself to cry whenever and for whatever without questioning it. Whenever I don’t want to get up and go clean or do my daily routine or whatever it may be, I force myself to get up and do it anyway and that makes me feel better. I try to stay active (been lacking but it’s okay). I was also taking therapy through the NOCD app but recently completed it. What had also helped is to be patient with myself and practice to not always see things in black and white but rather to see it in the grey.

@kls323 Thank you so much for those encouraging words! Sometimes it’s hard to fully realize and see how far you’ve came until you see it through someone else’s eyes, so thank you for that. Hope everything goes great for you in your journey!

@Vavina_4 How many therapy sessions did you have with nocd in total before you completed? I have my first session TMR. I will have to pay for therapy out of pocket so I am little concerned about costs.

@Sunflower 1234 I am trying to determine how much I should budget for nocd therapy?

@Sunflower 1234 I had to pay out of pocket as well but would could help was I made a payment plan so I would pay $50 every week. You could also do it biweekly if I’m not mistaken and monthly. You can try and download the Reimbursify app and contact the NOCD customer service to help you along with that process and see if you can get some of your money back.

@Vavina_4 The total amount of therapy sessions was I believe it was 6 1hour sessions and then 8 30 minute check ins
