I was considering a Macbook but I'm honestly not that fond of apple. I'm considering the HP envy. I was thinking about using it for digital art aswell as my school work. I actually don't care how much I spend. He is such an asshole, I have been telling him for weeks I need a new laptop because my laptop was so broken and needed a charger to work and I was doing all my school work (I study from home) from there. And for weeks he told me he will fix my old one and today he just chucks it across the room, and he knew I had work on it! He's disgusting. I told him I'm taking his card and buying a new and expensive laptop from it.

@MJocd I don’t have much experience with HP. The only one I had I broke. I have apple products (phone, iPad, computer) so for me it’s just easier to have the MacBook. I use procreate for my art but if you have tmother software or enjoy gaming then I understand why you’d go for an HP

@9jewels I can't seem to decide what would be the best thing to get. I need to make a decision by tomorrow so it arrives asap. I'm half considering purchasing an ipad and a keyboard, instead of a laptop... I just can't seem to decide 😭

@survivorr Thanks, I will do that. I really can't stop worrying about it :( I know it sounds silly but it's because I'm having it make an urgent decision and also I'm upset he did that.

I would totally read Consumer Reports, or a more tech-focused type of review/comparison like what was suggested in another comment. As for the iPad with keyboard, I really like my my touchscreen laptop. And they make ones that convert all the way, like you can fold them in half to become a tablet, but they still have all the inputs and outputs and capabilities of a laptop. Mine is a Lenovo that’s meant for gamers, but it’s been great for my art and music too because gamers need great video cards and sound. And the lit keys help when I’ve written or edited some essays in bed while my partner was asleep next to me. 😂 I’m so proud of you for already moving on after that serious aggression by your father. I hope that you are safe and that he finds better ways to deal with anger.

Yes, the HP envy seems to do all those things. Its foldable like a tablet too. I know, I was upset about it for a bit but I got over it surprisingly quickly. Maybe it's because my laptop was literally dying anyway, and I study from home and I kept asking for a more reliable device. I think my dad felt bad about our this morning, he asked me if he wanted me to go with him to get a new one and I told him I'll just order a new one. I'm just feeling so indecisive :( I'm scared of making the wrong choice.

@MJocd I totally feel ya on the decision making. Maybe ask what would happen if you didn’t make the right choice? That’s been helping me move forward lately. (And a hint: even when I’ve made the wrong, very important decision, I usually gain so much from it that I’m glad of the path I chose.). Let us know when you put the order in so we can all cheer for you!!! 💜
