Iām curious what youāve done so far to try and get better from ocd? Because (in case you havenāt heard of or tried these things) there are ways to self-help ocd. ERP therepy is the gold standard in ocd treatment and while itās recommended you do it with a therapist, you can do it on your own and there are lots of resources to help. The good thing is, the skill set is the same no matter the subtype. Note, if you havenāt heard of or tried erp, it will make you more anxious to begin with, but if you work through that anxiety things will get better eventually. Here is a list of self help books: https://iocdf.org/books/ And if money is an issue hereās a pdf for an ocd workbook: https://www.pdfdrive.com/the-ocd-workbook-your-guide-to-breaking-free-from-obsessive-compulsive-disorder-e157834125.html Also, I find it good to have a few coping strategies in my back pocket for when things seem really hopeless. I will draw, or paint, or text a friend (even if itās not about ocd) or watch a funny video to lift my mood. Sometimes Iāll see if I can find a way to help someone else. If you google ācoping skills,ā youāll find a ton of lists to give you ideas. Keep trying until something is helpful. Volunteering places used to help me when I felt like my life was meaningless. I really beleive that life is worth fighting for, and that even when we think the pain will last forever, even if it feels like it has lasted your whole life, there is always hope.
