We focus on the “content” of intrusive thoughts, when we should really be focusing on the way we process the thoughts. Those thoughts scare us and activate the flight, fight or freeze response in our bodies. We react by doing some type of compulsive behavior to get relief. So, it’s not the “CONTENT” of your thoughts that mean ANYTHING AT ALL its how you process and react to them. If you process them as true thoughts and spend energy on the reactions, you will perpetuate the vicious cycle of OCD.

Sometimes I feel like smiling or laughing like it’s funny but I don’t. It’s made me feel like I’m a psycho.

I force myself to be triggered. I have POCD and HOCD( sexual orientation) ROCD thoughts. I sit with my children more often, talk to more women and make loop tapes about my husband and our relationship

My therapist had me watch videos about virtuous peds, masculine women, and write or say aloud any words that triggered me

I have a lot of respect for you. You are challenging yourself a lot. I hope you are close to recovery. You inspire me to do more erp. I need to challenge myself more. I am married and have 3 young children so it is hard to find time to do erp but I need to make it a priority.

No do you use it? Is it helpful?

@Sunflower 1234 Yes it is very helpful. You can make loop tape recordings with your own voice that you can listen to as your anxiety is high with the triggers. You can time your exposures and the document the level of anxiety that you are experiencing at the beginning of the spike to the end of the episode.

Btw Thank you for the compliment, but believe me I need to challenge myself I'm just too afraid of missing out on raising my children, loving my husband and living a quality life. I can't even work at my place of employment because the people that come there share real life tragic stories and I'm an empath. So there would be triggers (flooded) everywhere

I work part-time and thankfully my job doesn't trigger me. My children are my main motivations to get better. I cannot afford being unstable mentally and not being there for you. Every time I do exposure I remember how my children need me to get better and that is what keeps me going.
