Wow that's a lot. I agree, being alone with our thoughts is really difficult. I hope you find something better suited! In the meantime, are you allowed to have an earphone in or something? It would make sense not both ears because you have to hear your surroundings. But are you able to listen to podcasts? Something to keep your mind from ruminating?

Thank you! I am able to listen to stuff. I get pretty overstimulated, so sometimes I have to take a break and just listen to “The sound of thunder” lol. I’m an obsessive thinker, period. Even stuff I *enjoy* thinking about, I’ll think about it over and over, like I’m trying to wring every drop of interest out of it, and have a difficult time switching to other topics, even if I want to. So, I usually end up with a headache at the end of the day, whether from depressive ruminating or from obsessing over enjoyable stuff. I’ve been trying to practice more mindfulness at work, just paying attention to my breath, or sounds, cause my brain feels like it’s constantly tense and disassociated from my environment. Being around people, or being asked to solve a complex problem that I’m not obsessive about, tend to help me relax mentally. So, hopefully a change in environment will be helpful. Thanks for listening!

@Alyosha I so get that. You make me realize I've been obsessive about thinking for so long. My husband used to think I was mad at him on the car because I was so quiet, whether I was the driver or passenger. I dont even really like talking in the car because I just use the time to think and think and think. I've always been like that@

@catattak Any luck finding a way to get good, uninterrupted sleep at night?

@Alyosha I use magnesium supplements or magnesium gel. Its awesome! Makes me sleep like the dead and relieves inflammation (I have some chronic tendonitis from old injuries). Its not magic for an injury but it's great for those dual purposes. It actually helps minimally with my anxiety too. A few years ago I was using it to lower my anxiety a bit. You have to take it before bed because it relaxes you. The pill supplement will also make you more regular and the gel is great for local pain

So proud of you for setting a goal for yourself. Good luck finding a job that is a good fit for you. You can do it. OCD has nothing on you. You are the boss not ocd 🙂

@Alyosha I am super anxious and irritated right now. I just did an exposure. Now is the hard part (response prevention) ugh. Ocd is relentless.

So now this goal seems way too big and scary. ...Maybe one out of three?

I don't think it's a bad idea to put your feelers out but maybe dont put all your eggs in that basket
