@noone800 no need to feel upset, although that’s hard:) do you want to say what it was or is it more private? also it takes time to fight compulsions, don’t be discouraged especially since it’s in the past

@zoe:) U struggle with zoophilia ocd and have loved animals my whole life. With this compulsion I would go up to my cats and pet their belly’s and look at their butts and see if I was aroused. I know I never hurt them physically but I feel so bad and shitty about it. And I haven’t thought about this in like a month

@noone800 I suggest forgiving yourself!!! It’s hard, but it opens you up to fighting more OCD presently!

@noone800 That’s okay!! I just read the post. It sounds like your struggling with guilt from compulsions. Just remember you are not your OCD! You are completely separate. I have real event OCD and although it’s not the same as what you’re going through I completely get the obsessive guilt.

@trying to be mindful Thank you so much, I just feel bad about it because I love my animals so much and I haven’t done the compulsion in a month and half and don’t plan on doing it again, thank you! I’m also scared like “omg if my family found out what would they think”.

@noone800 Just remember it will get better!! And I’m sure your family would understand that you’re struggling with OCD. Try not to think of other peoples opinions and just keep focusing on that goal of ignoring the compulsions. And it’s great that you haven’t given into them for a month and a half it’s definitely impressive!

@noone800 Thanks for asking!! somethings that I do are relaxing my shoulders and progressive muscle relaxation. You can look it up to learn more about it. This is a huge distraction from the issue, but I also notice I am super tense when I’m thinking about my Real Events. Something my therapist also recommended is thinking that you are putting your thoughts in a “box in your brain” and then you’re going to do something fun and relaxing to calm the anxiety, and you can open it later when you’re ready to face them.
