Everything has to be “just right” or you can’t move forward. I do the same with everything. It’s like I apply this “just right” template to everything I do and it’s very time consuming. It’s a good thing that you are aware of the behaviors, some people don’t realize it’s the ocd causing this.

yeah its crazy how many things can become obsessive im glad someone can relate ... i guess with this stuff its just like not hurting me so its more observational but at the same time i go i dont think non ocd people do this most people want a dog and if they can afford it go to a shelter prep a bit for getting a dog and then get it and i just obsess over the idea of getting one but i never actually do it because i find reasons that it wont work or i dont deserve or its not right and then go back to the search and im like hmmm what is this? why am i doing this? i get stuck in a loop

This happens to me with nail polish 😐 so trivial but I will obsess over my nails and then I’ll finally paint them (PERFECTLY) and the very next day I want to take the color off to obsess over a new one.

wow yeah so perfectionism can be so many themes like its interesting what we latch onto as needing to be right and other things dont matter as much

And if they aren’t absolutely perfect I will take the polish off and fix it
