I have scrupulocity too and confessing, I’m sorry you have it too but it makes me feel less alone because I felt like I was the only one who had this kind of ocd. It’s so so hard to not confess

What type of ocd do you struggle with? Is it scrupulocity? That’s what I have

@mkearns0322 I have real event ocd, so I think we’re similar in the way we think we’ve done something immoral and wrong

@worryqueen Mine is false memory ocd and I guess about like harming people. I feel better when I tell my girlfriend everything but I know it’s a compulsion.

@Sadman I’ve confessed before to my sister about certain things but it only gives me temporary relief so there’s no point in doing it multiple times even though I think it’s a good solution

Do you still confess ?

@Sadman My therapist told her not to let me anymore, so if I do she ignores it.

I also have real event ocd, it seems like it’s twice as hard to let things go because it’s not thoughts but actions that happened that are mistakes and I don’t know how to let go of mistakes and I’m worried my therapist thinks I’m creepy because of my pocd

I was today years old when I learned about confessing. I used to do that all the time! I had no idea this was even a thing.

Yeah it is really a big part of ocd there are lots of different ways it manifests itself

@mkearns0322 Is it related to seeking reassurance?
- Date posted

@Gansey Yeah it is, you basically want people to reassure you.

Sometimes when you confess you feel the thoughts lessen but then you get addicted kind of to that feeling and Try to keep confessing it’s a cycle
