Thanks so much, I’ll probably mention it to my therapist this week. I’m glad you’re feeling better recently :)

Currently what I’m going through right now. I have ocd all the time, have since I was 6 but every few years since I was 14 I’ll go through a phase where I develop bad existential ocd and become completely hopeless. Normally my ocd doesn’t have any kind of particular sub-type, it just causes me minor inconveniences and weird intrusive thoughts every now and then. I haven’t had an episode like this in over 3 years and I thought that maybe it was just a teenage years thing but now this is probably the worst I’ve ever felt but therapy isn’t an option anymore unfortunately, so I just kind of have to deal with it until it goes away. I haven’t had any motivation to do really anything lately, hardly been eating and all I want to do is sleep. Contemplating suicide constantly. I’ve gotten through it on my own before though and I think I can do it this time, we’ll see.

God I hope you’re okay. Are you in the UK? Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re contemplating these types of things. Remember these things wax and wane, subsiding eventually. You can always talk to me if you need someone

@HS369 No, I’m in the US. I don’t have any friends and when I tell my parents about how I’ve been feeling they just turn themselves into the victims and make me feel like a monster. They don’t want me getting therapy because it’s too expensive. It won’t last forever but it usually comes back after the last time much stronger than before. I just don’t wanna be stuck in this cycle my whole life. Thank you.

@Jay Would any therapy be covered by health insurance? Or perhaps via this app. If not then there are a lot of resources to help manage and your own symptoms it might be worth checking that out. Some techniques I’ve used whilst I’ve not been in therapy have helped me a lot.

@HS369 My mom said that her insurance would pay for it but today I found out that there’s a co-pay. It’s $30 and my mom said that that’s too expensive and told me to just get a job instead. I’ve been exercising and getting more fresh air by going on walks and I’ve also tried meditation, both of which have helped a little bit, but not much.

@Jay I always find excercise helps. Also the more reading i did on OCD and finding out how it works did wonders for me too. Having a better understanding of what made it tick and what could stifle it helped me to find ways to quieten it.
