It’s normal to get side effects on any medication. Don’t be afraid to take it. Just think of it this way it could help you a lot. Make life easier. Or it won’t work on you. Everyone is different. I’ve take Prozac for years now. It’s the only thing that worked for me. Then they put me on risperidone to help it. Making it easier. I tried Zoloft and it didn’t do anything at all. I was on the highest possible dosage. I’m currently taking 1mg of risperidone and 60mg of Prozac. Try it for a few months, If it doesn’t work for you spea to your doctor about trying something else. But there is nothing to be afraid of. Side effects like I said are normal and it’s not as bad as you think. They also differ between people.

@Danica Maria Mine side effects are no where near as noticeable as how bad I am without the medication.

For me it did yes, that is the crappy part about it but I don’t feel as drowsy now being on 1mg and I take it at night. When I was on 2mg it was I couldn’t keep my eyes open. But like I said it is different for everyone. You might not feel drowsy and you might not gain weight. That’s the chance you take being on it. Although I rather gain a bit of weight in order to be in a better mindset. It helps substantially and I know I need it

I wouldn’t be afraid it can either work or not. If not or you feel bad on it ask your doctor to try something different. It will take a while to find your perfect match

You might not even get drowsy that’s a small dosage. And it shouldn’t matter what other people think. You need it for your health and to feel better

Good morning fellow soldiers, I hope everyone’s had a positive week! I wanted to touch on medication(s); specifically SSRI’s 💊 For both those currently taking and those contemplating taking and the importance of taking your medication(s) as prescribed. For example, I’ve been inconsistent the past three months ever since moving. And unfortunately, I’ve noticed differences here and there. I’m currently in the process of getting back on track as prescribed, but I also have noticed that I most definitely need a decrease in milligrams overall. Case in point; just because you start out taking a prescribed dosage of medication(s) at first, doesn’t mean that you can’t/shouldn’t address a decrease in dosage overtime. Of course, this is something that should be discussed with both your primary care physician and/or psychiatrist for final approvals. SSRI’s can have adverse effects as well; as much good as they do for you, overdosing can also have adverse effects as well. Be self-aware, mindful, etc. We’re our own best judges and should always be open to and aware of any/all signs! Sending love, compassion and support to all those suffering from the monster and battling the beast that is OCD 💌

At this point I feel like I need to get on something ASAP. I know that therapy is a long road and hard work and I am totally down to do it but in the short term (I just started this journey) I think I need pharmaceutical help. Some of the people closest to me agree. I have never been on meds before and it's scary AF but the road I am going down is scarier. Advice?
