It’s like being hyper aware that you exist. And it’s totally normal btw nothing to be afraid of. A normal person will experience one episode of depersonalization in their life, and it’s merely a symptom of anxiety. It’s your body in fight or flight mode. It’s also paired with intrusive thoughts about things being real or the fact that you exist. I have them periodically. Nothing like changes at all, really. Just your thoughts are wrapped around anxiety. It’s much like OCD, and is a common symptom of OCD. As someone who’s had it, you NEED to not be afraid of it. It will only make it intensify, any fear will make your anxiety intensify. And I promise you, even if it “seems” scary. The basic principles of it are completely normal and like, I know plenty of non OCD sufferers who have had it. It’s not talked about enough. But stop researching it. Treat this like a new theme, do not give into compulsions. If you are stressing about if things are “real”, you probably are experiencing existentialism OCD, or a MINOR episode of dpdr. Either way you’re literally fine. Do not stress, its nothing to be afraid of. Depersonalization is just anxiety, imagine worrying about having anxiety. Anxious about being anxious? Lol.

Thanks for the advice. But i dont stress if things are real or not. It's just that i never heard about it. And iam scared about what if I have it. I know I don't have it. But it is scary. So should I deal with it like any other ocd thought?

@harshit Yep. And so what if you have it? It’s actually so normal. It is scary. But not to me, because it’s normal and I accept it’s uncertainty. When I don’t have it, I don’t wonder if it’ll come back or if I have it. It’s just uncomfortable when I’m trying to do work and I feel off. You need to do ERP with this theme. How do you know you don’t have it? How do you know you do? You don’t know at all so accept the uncertainty. Also stay off google. It’s description and the forums depictions of dpdr are very wrong and are filled with very unhealthy people who feed their illness. DonT feed your brain that garbage.

@charleejadeg Thank you for the advice. I will definitely look into it. I was just scared because I thought what if I get Disassociative identity disorder. This made me google it and there I saw that ocd can lead to depersonalization. And there I got scared. Then I googled it for 10 minutes straight and got sacred. But now I will let this thought as it is. Now I will think when I will get anything like that I will treat it then.

@harshit I get this with depression, I dont have it im terrified of developing it, i would try to sit with youll never know, and its better to just live life with that uncertainty than waste it by panicing about what you may or may not have :)
