What were her exact words?? She actually said she supports it? Or is that how you interpreted what she said. And yes use this trigger as an opportunity to practice erp!

Sadly, and I don't want to get political with this, but I believe more people will start to sympathize with pedophiles because they believe they were "born that way". Supporting and sympathizing are 2 different things. I definitely agree that you should have a talk with her. Maybe you misunderstood? I wasn't there but I'm just wondering if she meant she sympathized? It's not my place to judge. I'm so sorry that her words made you feel this way.

There is a difference between compassion and endorsement. I do have compassion for someone who happens to be a pedophile, because I understand genetic and environmental factors beyond their control are why they are attracted to children. But I can also find their possibly harmful actions objectionable or even repugnant. We can hold both views simultaneously.

no don't worry! she didn't exactly say she supported it, and this isn't any sort of tr@ma at all i just was bothered , so she started talking about inappropriate stuff with me and saying she's going to f*ck a man , and i told her to not talk about those things with me since i'm literally a minor literally 14! and i tried having a talk to her about how it's wrong and she just completely ignored it :(..

@kokichi Well, I can understand why anyone becomes any particular thing. Let’s imagine a more benign scenario: someone grows up in a household with two addicts are parents. Throughout their childhood drugs are always visible and present. They see their parents use drugs to the point of being completely absorbed in their addiction. As this person grows older, they use drugs at a party and thus begins their own battle with addiction. In this instance, I can understand that they had a genetic predisposition and their environment contributed to the emergence of their addiction. I can understand their addiction is bad for them, and behavior they may engage in as a result of that addiction to be harmful or dangerous for others. Compassion for others connects us more genuinely to the suffering in the world and allows us to reckon with it face-to-face. I am the product of childhood sexual abuse, so it isn’t like I don’t have the experience of being victimized. My abuser should not be around children and their choices were damaging and hurtful for me in ways that I likely can’t fully calculate.
