@naj I've never dealt with that type of OCD, so unfortunately I can't say much to it specifically. But what you're describing is very common for people with OCD. I've read hundreds of stories like yours on this app. It's terrifying to deal with, but it's not unique to you. We have a disorder that clings on to things we care about emotionally. People rarely get obsessions about things that don't produce an emotional response. The greater the emotional response, the more OCD can use that thought. For some people, this can be their health, so they worry about getting sick. I can only assume that you love your baby. The thought of him being harmed causes a natural emotion reaction in you, made worse by the thought of you doing the harm. This is why OCD has clung on to it. But thinking something does not make it so, and just because you have a thought does not mean it is relevant to you. I'm sorry. I know well how OCD can deceive a person and send them into misery. I was doing horribly a few months ago. I didn't see any point in continuing. But I started to learn more about OCD and I started to see I could treat it. It's been so much better since, but it's been a tough journey, with ups and downs. But we can all beat OCD. I'm sorry that I don't know more about your subtype, but I hope what I have said has helped a little.

@naj No matter what OCD comes up with, no matter how terrible, no matter how terrifying - life will always continue. It's an uphill battle, and usually a long one. Don't ever think that if you lose a day or a week (or a month or a year) to OCD that you've lost. Life will continue and you'll get stronger. I don't know very much about pregnancy either, but I've heard it can be a rough time for many women. Don't give OCD too much credit. It wants to sink you down. You're stronger than that. Even if OCD bothers you, the beauty of creating life will be the same. Bless you and your baby.

Naj, I worried about that too. I have a womens group on the kik app for OCD/Intrusive thoughts and we have 2 women who are currently pregnant (and I just had my baby in June) feel free to join us, we talk, support and remind each other to practice our ERP. Message me on there 777Mimsa and I will add you.

I'm struggling severely. Please comment so I have a therapist or someone to talk to. Someone has caused me to spiral in another group.
