Just because you think something doesn’t make it true. If you think you’ll win a million dollars today does that mean it will come true?

No I guess not haha. It just felt like I really feel it or want it and that makes me sad

@anyonymous Yeah I experienced the same when I was going thru the worst of OCD. It felt like I really “wanted it”

@GJ7 Its the worst. I literally am so afraid because I can't tell what are my true desires and what aren't :(

@anyonymous I know how you feel. Have you ever watched Ali Greymond’s videos on YouTube on OCD?

@anyonymous I’m not sure but I actually went to her for counseling. Honestly what helped me the best was getting an OCD therapist and seeing a psychiatrist

@GJ7 Oh okay! Was her counseling helpful to you?

@anyonymous Kind of. I think what really helped was finding a good psychiatrist with a good counselor who understood OCD

@GJ7 Okay. I think that would be helpful for me too.

@anyonymous Yes make sure they both have worked with OCD patients before. I use a therapist on here and it’s been good

@GJ7 Okay. How are the sessions like? Anything I should know?

@anyonymous You start off doing a 90 minute session where they get to know you. Then you do 60 minute and then 30 minute sessions. You do and learn about ERP during them.

Could you share some of your experience? If you don't mind of course. I had the worst thought and it feels so true I want to cry

@anyonymous Of course I don't mind sharing. I just don't want anything to trigger you? Mine relates to POCD and sexual harm etc. Are you okay for me to talking about this?

@SeaShell Yes. I am okay with you sharing. Thanks for asking :)

@anyonymous Sorry for my late response! I'll never forget the one time I was teaching a 15-year-old student extra lessons because back then, I was a teacher. We were alone, just him and I. And I had this HORRIFIC thought that I was going to do something sexual to him. And I immediately went into a flat panic, my anxiety consumed me completely, and I was so distraught that I decided to never go back and give one on one lessons again. I'm not even a teacher anymore because my OCD around younger people is so so bad :( That thought consumed me for months afterwards, and even though I've managed to accept that everything is ok now because I understand my OCD better, I still remember that situation and how awful it was. I've also had a thought and false memory for over 2 years now that I can't get rid of. I live with this family in a house (I live on the top floor with the family's son). The parents are the most amazing people, so kind and caring and do so much for me. And one day, I was home alone with the dad, and I had an intrusive thought that I was going to "have an affair"/ do something sexual with him. And I feel so so guilty about it every single day. I still live here, but it's so hard. I keep telling myself it's OK, it's just am intrusive thought, but I've been struggling with it every damn day for over 2 years.
