I hate uncertainty too.. my obsessive mind loves to get that uncertainty and play out one scenario after another in it.. and just letting it those thoughts go is such a struggle..

@Dudeman21 I hear ya... and the worst part is no one really believes I have ocd... they say your just "obsessive" you dont really have OCD... 🤦♂️ correct me if I'm wrong... but that's the whole point of OCD.... your obsessive 😫

You could be like me, the obsessing is there but the compulsions may not be the ones consistent with the obsessions. I found out through my therapist that pretty much anything you do you try and get “some sort of relief” from your obsession is the compulsion. When she told me this it changed a lot of my acting and thinking. I’m all pure Ocd so it’s all in my head, so i could do some kind of thinking and not even realize i was doing a compulsion.. the worst (biggest steps) I’ve made is just sitting with all the anxiety and uncertainty and trying not to do anything that would make me feel better.. just making space or “leaning” into that feeling.. i hate it, and It feels terrible.. but i am noticing when it hits it doesn’t last as long and it becomes easier for it to move on without my mind trying to actually “pull it back” to try and figure it out or solve it with a mental solution that’s only certain for a moment.

compulsions do my head in... 😔

I completely understand what your saying... I'm pure o too so it's all im my head... sitting with it is the worst... but your right. Not engaging with it stops the compulsions.. that is difficult, so I'm not playing it down... cos the short relief is more appealing.... (in the moment) 🤦♂️

Do you kind of feel like your body is addicted to it? Like it needs to be anxious some times? I’ve found when I’m out of my head and just in the moment it’s like... what hell??? I’m free! Then something gets me right back in and it’s like.. i was just fine two mins ago..

Yeah I spend alot of my days with tension headaches... and thoughts come randomly... then theres the grownal 😫 it's all fucking with my body...

We got a lot in common bro.. i use to get those all the time, and for the groinal i tried this little mental trick and it kind of helped. At first i would change my thinking and “expect” to get an erection when i saw something that triggered me to do a groinal check.. this triggered me at first, but i kept with it and then eventually after a while i slowly noticed a stopped checking, and then i moved on to accepting with the mindset “this things got a mind of its own” i can’t control it, whatever it does it does, I’m just along for the whatever happened. and that took a while but i kept with it and I’ve slowly stopped checking and i don’t do it as much anymore, sometimes it slips and then I’m like damn... idk hope that helps bro, i know the anxiety and tension headaches are terrible, and hope this helps ease all of that 💯

Its mad that you literally have to do nothing for OCD to be there.... living in the "maybe" can be just as tough......

Yes of course. Just don’t resist it. Accept it and let it pass. That’s what most people do anyways... they don’t spend time fighting with their thoughts. They just go “hmph, weird” and move on.

Correct me if I'm wrong.... but not engaging, and not doing compulsions... seems more distressing then the temporary relive, compulsions provide... Thays not very PC... I understand but none of this illness seems to make sence 😔

Wel that’s because you’ve trained your brain to believe the thought is bad. Thoughts ARENT bad. Thoughts are thoughts.
