Same issue here. I'm on Fluoxetine too. You should talk to your Dr about that. He will change the dose of the medication or something. Good luck!!

The increase of dosage has made the medicine too stimulating for you. Many antidepressants can make anxiety and cause sleep issues because of this . You can either wait it out until you level out , lower dosage , or talk to your doctor about changing to a less stimulating antidepressant.

I’m on Fluoxetine and I really struggle with sleeping issues, specially insomnia/waking up in the middle of the night feeling terrified about something. I think it’s common for this kind of stimulant antidepressants to cause this feelings. You should speak to your doctor about it.

@Estrid Fluoxetine is the most stimulating antidepressant. I say listen to your doctor but if there is no improvement it’s better he moves you to a less stimulating antidepressant.

@Estrid I’ve been on fluoxetine for 3 and a half months. The first month or so was the most difficult one, a part from sleeping issues I also had a lot of anxiety/nervous feeling/hands trembling the all day. I spoke to my Dr and he told me that it is a very common symptom and that it shall pass. The anxiety during the day has definetely decreased, as well as my obsessive thoughts (although not 100%), but the sleeping issues remain. I recommend you to try and give it perhaps two more weeks, but if you are still feeling the same I think you could benefit from a less activating AD (your Dr will know for sure). There are hundreds of options out there, I’m sure you will find the one which works for you!

@britt17nicole Ok...... makes sense . Sometimes you have to wait it out to help new introduction of medicine to level out
