Yes! Especially at work when I’m stressed or anxious, I feel like I should be busy all the time. I work in a special school and one adult in my class picks up on this restlessness now and knows it is my OCD and asks “are you okay? What can I do to help? I work with lovely colleagues

That’s so nice of them. I’d just like to be able to sit back and get fully engrossed in a tv show or movie and not feel the urge to do something totally different. Ya know what I mean?

@MegB I do, I’d love to sit and totally relax watching tv and not be skin picking on my fingers!

Like nothing feels okay? I literally feel an absolutely unbearable urge to just self destruct. Like legit hit the self destruct button whatever that means because it doesn’t matter what I do I can’t stop thinking “this isn’t helping I want to be done with this and do something else”. I cannot explain to you how intense the urge is and it never lets up.

@sheeby What did you do when you felt like that??

@MegB Honestly I just tried to distract myself as much as possible. It’s really hard and I still struggle with it but staying busy helps

@sheeby God it’s like I almost prefer regular anxiety. But of course I’d probably say the opposite if I was anxious.

Most likely built up anxiety. Do you exercise regularly? It might help release some of that energy

I don’t feel anxious though? At least not how I typically experience anxiety. My timeline of symptoms went as follows: extreme anxiety like 24/7, then complete depression with a lot of apathy, then this restless feeling cause the depression had lifted to some degree. Now I just feel like a bug...trapped, flying around hitting the walls of the cup im trapped in with no relief. It doesn’t feel like anxiety. God this sucks. But yes I try to exercise, but it’s hard to get going and keep going cause I get super emotional while exercising.

Hmmm it sounds like pent up energy to me but I could be wrong. Sometimes the body can do funny things and our mind can manifest itself through our body. I would try exercise but if you’re really uncomfortable with that maybe stretching or meditation..anything that can help your body move

@erma12 Stretching might be good. Thank you for your help!

Yes! I feel exactly this way. It makes it difficult to prioritize chores versus entertaining stuff...like, I’ll be studying and think “I should exercise” and then go do that and think no, this is a waste of time because you should be doing (insert activity) instead. And this never stops.

The problem is entertaining stuff isn’t even entertaining to me anymore cause I’m always thinking why do I feel so restless what can I do to make this go away?? It’s like literally nothing fulfills me. Productive things or entertaining things. Obnoxious.
