Really confused about this post. There are some posts on NoFap that do help but I do understand that people shouldn't take it 100% seriously. Never trust posts on the internet? What about the ones right here in this community that's over the internet along with posts in ocd forums where sufferers need as much help as we do?

Because most of the hocd posts on NoFap are written by people who have no hocd at all. They just use this as an excuse for their transsexual, gay porn use. And most of the things they tell are totally nonsense. And all those forums are useless, because of its compulsive nature.

@agriculturalindustries I agree with the last part with the compulsive nature, but how do you know all of that other stuff for sure? Maybe people would only watch gay or transexual porn because they are attracted to those sexualities. If they pretend to have OCD and admit to that then it's pretty shitty because faking a mental disorder really isn't cool. But do you really know that for sure?

@BigGip09 Because sexual behavior comes first. Remember, in OCD, obsessions trigger a behavior to relieve the anxiety associated with the obsession. The obsession, the thought, starts the chain of anxiety. In the stories associated with HOCD online, attributing it to porn, the sexual behavior (watching porn and masturbating) precedes the anxious fear that the man might be gay, because they are becoming aroused by this experience or stimuli. Secondly, the sexual behavior of HOCD is not, in almost all cases, a pleasurable one. In fact, the lack of pleasure often provides the actual relief, assuring the individual that they are not in fact homosexual.

@agriculturalindustries Please forgive me for not catching on fast enough, for I don't suffer with HOCD or any form of sexuality OCD. If the obsession has to do with gay porn, and watching straight porn is an attribute to relief the anxiety of the thoughts, wouldn't that be the compulsion? Isn't that your point? How do you still know that they are faking this or not when they bring it to forums and whatnot?

Nah, it is not point. Those people watch gay porn for years and then they start thinkimg if they are gay or not. Then they just call it hocd. So, they dont do it for compulsion.

Have they stated they watched the gay porn for years? If that's like clear, then it's probably not a compulsion and they just like the gay porn. Wouldn't be fair to call it OCD in that sense.

@BigGip09 Yep, thats true. I dont call them anything or judge them. But they are clearly not hocd sufferers. So their posts can be so damaging for people with hocd.

@agriculturalindustries Well that's unfortunate. I won't be fast to shut them down because of that fact, but they aren't suffering with HOCD the same way others might. But, they still may think they're suffering, which I think is enough to want to help someone.

@BigGip09 Yeah, thats true. They have problems, and they deserve help. But seeking help on those forums and faking their real condition wont help.

@agriculturalindustries Probably not, but they may not even know what they're problem is but at least they do know they have a problem. I remember when I didn't know my problem was OCD until I found out a lot of people on here that understood what I was going through

@BigGip09 Yes. Thats true. Everyone with ocd felt in that way once
