That's a good start, writing the name of the show. I'm sorry I brought it up yesterday haha what are the odds. What really helped me once i finished the show was seeing interviews of the actors and watch them how they are in real life, separating them from the fiction. IDK if it makes sense

Hahah no it’s okay how would you have known?? Seriously, what are the odds lmao. And I think I’m still at the point where I’m working with the book. Seeing it might be too much right now! Don’t worry this was happening long before we talked! And it was nice to talk to you yesterday about it, that was a HUGE step. And yes, I need to separate the fiction from my own life

@wellwellwell And it does help to remember this is a show, it’s not real at all! And I loved the book so it’s too bad it became such a trigger

What helped me with my depression was meds and therapy I was too afraid of medication but I actually saved me. Getting out of my house and walking or riding my bike and most importantly being with someone I feel comfortable and talk about it when I feel like. I know these are pretty obvious things but I hope it helps you ♥️

@paufli Thank you❤️ I just got married and I’m applying to medical school at the same time so it’s been so so much. I’ve been trying to feel better but a sad book was the last thing I needed. And it scared me that they didn’t end up together so how could I have faith in my marriage? It’s been rough! But I’m trying. I have antidepressants and I’m going to start yoga. I want to feel okay again

@wellwellwell I totally get you I also compare my relationship with the one in the book/show, we shouldn't do it lol but it's hard not to. Yoga it's great I want to start again. A good app that helped me was Headspace, a meditation app I really recommend it , its now on Netflix like episodes it's super relaxing

@paufli Yeah, I mean it’s easy to fall into something like that. Especially when it’s so realistic! And I use headspace I love it

It is. May I ask how long you’ve had these thoughts? Is it a show, book, or movie? Mine recently became a show so it’s been getting a lot of press and I’ve been avoiding so many things because even seeing it upsets me

Yes, as you said, even seeing it triggers me. I have these thoughts since July 2020. But they appeared for the first time in 2015. Then I took Escitalopram which helps. But it suddenly stopped working in July!

I am also constantly in the avoidance position.

I stopped reading and watching tv for a while because of how much it hurt. It still does. I wish i could erase the show and book and forget how much it hurt me

I also stopped watching tv. This all makes me so sad. And this depression is horrible. Everything feels kind of weird 😣

Agreed. I think about the characters a lot and I basically had to try to force myself to read again. It’s my favorite thing to do and I don’t want to deprive myself of that
