although I am an advocate, I am curious what your themes were and how long it took you! happy to see you are recovered. Positive post!

My themes were mostly sexual-orientation centered, but morality jumped in sometimes. I had severe OCD for five months, taking up around an hour every day with compulsions- and I recovered in three/four months. Thank you!

did you get rid of all your compulsions?

I got rid of a good 99%, yes, and I have gotten rid of the repetitive/obsessive nature of them. A really sneaky one of mine is wondering how I would reassure myself if I had OCD in the present moment- which isn’t really a compulsion, but it makes me feel like I have OCD again, if that makes any sense!

Hello, here are some good ones : - being around children at a park (with social distance) - watching videos of children or searching some up - watch crime videos centered around people who are pedophilic - write down scenes of you going to jail for pedophilic behaviors Remember to not engage in any compulsive behaviors while doing them 😉

Hey, I have ROCD. Sometimes I struggle with ERP because I have to constantly make myself anxious. It’s so exhausting, how did you push through while feeling so mentally and emotionally fatigued?

Self-care is important, baths and journaling and watching a good, relaxing movie helps a lot. Besides that, you can schedule certain ERP moments, and remember, cater it to you! Don’t feel pressured, and do whatever you can whenever you feel energized to do so.

@Chai That’s great advice. One more question. Sometimes when I am genuinely enjoying my gfs company my brain starts going “See? Look this is a good relationship.” But that’s a compulsion, but it’s so automatic sometimes I don’t even realize how much I’ve been doing it. Idk what type of ocd you had, but if you have tips there I’d appreciate it

@aperez Automatic compulsions can be really sneaky! Try undoing it by saying something worrisome, like “oh she might want to break up soon” to reduce the compulsion. Or, you can always stick to the handy “that’s not true, you never know, maybe, maybe not” ✨

do you fear getting OCD again? you’re an inspiration btw, i hope to recover one day :) it’ll take hard work but i’m ready to dedicate to it.

I do not fear getting OCD again, actually. I feel like after ERP and studying of the brain, I can’t go back to worrying and the only way is forward! I haven’t felt a need to do a compulsion in a long while. Aww thank you! You seem like a really cool person, and I’m sure you can do it! Remember to treat OCD as a game, and take some self-care as well 🙂
