I was very worried because I did ERP during the start of one of my semesters in a nursing program. You can get through this. Listen to a meditation for intrusive thoughts so calm you down.
Oh man that sounds awful. I’m glad you made it through the program! I’m in dental hygiene school and I was diagnosed three weeks before last semester ended. I had to stop working because I was so bad and I’m still not back. The new semester just started up and I’m struggling so much. I just can’t get into the material. I’m glad I’m not the only one
@Anon123 I’m sorry to hear that. It’s so hard. I almost dropped out when there were only three weeks left but I knew I would be too upset with myself if I did that. All I can do is try to push through!
No - I am just helping her daily
What is the issue that is bringing you down ?
I have ROCD and I’m struggling with a lot pertaining to that. I had an appointment today with my NOCD therapist and she told me how to deal with the thoughts. I am doing what she’s saying but I still can’t concentrate. Even before today when my OCD symptoms weren’t as bad I was having difficulty concentrating. I used to be able to sit for hours and retain so much information. Now I can’t even watch 12 minutes of a lecture without pausing it or picking up my phone
@Debbieski Hey, have you ever talked to your therapist about the possibility of ADHD?
I’m sorry to hear
Ny daughter has severe HOCD
It is so bad right now
It’s so frustrating to deal with. Some days are good and then out of nowhere there will be a really bad day that makes you feel like you’re back to square one
Yes you are right
It’s a tireless fight sometimes
All we can do is keep pushing through, is she seeing a therapist for it?
@Debbieski How old were you when your ocd hit
How old were you when your ocd hit
I’ve had it my whole life but I didn’t know until a few months ago, at the age of 26
@Debbieski Did you have HOCD too ?
@rachel1219 No, I’ve had ROCD since I was 12 when I was in my first relationship. But I always felt different when I was a kid, like an outsider. I’ve always felt like something is wrong with me. I’m happy I know what it is now, but getting through it is extremely difficult.
