Hey I think you posted this a while ago and I remember responding. As a poc if you’re worrying about it a lot it’s clear that you don’t want to hurt people. Everyone has internalized racist beliefs that they have to work on dismantling. Being ashamed about being white happens but will not do anything for us in the long run. What I’m saying is have more trust in yourself and if you have a racist thought sit with that thought and sit with that discomfort. Why did you think that way? How can you not think this way in the future? Try using that as a starting point.

I don't get racist thoughts, it's more so that I'm anxious that I'll appear racist or be perceived as racist just when I'm talking to a POC.

@canigetawitness And two months ago, this worry wouldn't have even been in my head. I don't know what's happened.

@canigetawitness I know. I’m talking about internalized racism. Everyone has that and it has to do with your problem as well. I’m saying trust yourself but also to sit with the discomfort and let the worries pass. Do not engage with it further or try to rationalize it just let the anxiety pass.

@snva Yeah, it probably is part of the problem.
